Paul Lee — The Anchorman

As the eldest of the Lee brothers, Paul is the calm presence who somehow survived a household of three boys—basically a daily WWE match with homework in the background. Yes, there were differences and distance at times, like any brothers, but the Lord restored what needed restoring.

Paul’s encouragement during pivotal moments reflected Christ’s grace not just in words, but through unwavering action. Their relationship today is proof that God heals and strengthens family bonds, and Danny is honored to stand with a brother who leads through character, faith, and quiet strength.

Jae Kang — VP of Accountability

For more than 12 years, Jae has been part friend, part mentor, part older-brother figure—and part designated roaster. If Danny made a questionable life decision, Jae was usually the first to hear about it… and the first to shake his head.

Jae is the guy who will offer wisdom, a meal, a ride, or a reality check—sometimes in the same phone call. His hospitality, grace, and perfectly timed sarcasm have supported Danny through every high and low. Danny is grateful for a friend who tells the truth, shows up consistently, and still finds a way to laugh through life with him.

Tae Kim — The Day-One Homie Homie Dawg

Danny and Tae go back more than 20 years—through childhood mischief, awkward phases, and everything adulthood brings. Their friendship is the kind where it doesn’t matter if they haven’t talked in weeks or months; once they reconnect, it’s instantly like they’re kids again doing dumb stuff and laughing at jokes no one else understands.

Catching up with Tae is like hitting “resume” on a favorite playlist.

Juan Balderas — JB

Juan—“Juanito”—first met Danny at his former fire department, when they were just coworkers making small talk between calls. That quickly turned into a friendship built on shared hobbies like hunting, shooting, and basically anything outdoors that lets them pretend they’re rugged forest explorers.

If these two disappear for a day, they’re probably out in the woods “hunting,” which mostly means admiring ducks and arguing over which bird looks the coolest.

Juan has become more than a colleague—he’s a trusted brother, someone Danny respects deeply for his loyalty, work ethic, and the way he shows up for the people in his life.

Liz Harkleroad —The Steadfast One

Liz is Kali's ride-or-die girlie and fitness powerhouse who once swore she’d never run a half marathon… and now treats them as warm-ups. They've been best friends for nearly 15 years, though their story started with Kali thinking she didn’t like her at all on a church beach trip. Turns out it was just the sun in her eyes (and one annoying guy nearby).

Since then, she has become one of Kali's bestest friends, practically a sister. Liz is equal parts fierce and tender — she’s the girl whose gaze can cut glass, but whose heart is courageous, generous, and steady. She faces every fear head-on, whether that’s trying something new, stepping into a challenge, or cheering someone else through theirs.

Honestly, having Liz as her Maid of Honor is an honor beyond words.

Allie Coleman —The Bright Light

Allie is Kali's soul sister — the besto friendo who saw their future long before Kali did. They met in 2018 at Kali's first night at their church's MC and bonded instantly over boybands. At the end of that night, she grabbed Kali's hands and asked, “Can we be best friends? Can we be in each other’s weddings?” And Kali, in the beginning of her Setting Healthy Boundary Era, replied, “We can be friends… and I’m not sure about the whole wedding part.”

And yet, here they are — and she couldn’t imagine her bridal party without her.

Rylie Spears — The Lifelong Link

Rylie and Kali go all the way back to before she was born — their moms have been best friends since high school, so they grew up believing they were cousins. When Kali eventually learned how family trees actually worked and realized they weren’t related, the Lord kindly made sure it didn’t matter.

Rylie has always been like a tall little sister — full of joy, quick wit, and perfectly timed side comments. But she’s also one of the coolest, most naturally gifted athletes Kali knows. Whether it’s BMX racing or flying down a mountain trail, Rylie makes anything on two wheels look effortless. Her courage, skill, and grit are just as much a part of who she is as her sweetness.

She keeps Kali young, keeps her laughing, and has been woven into her story from the very beginning.

Having her stand beside them means more than she knows.

Destiny Stansel — The Faithful Defender

Destiny is Kali's knitting-and-pickleball bestie with a backbone made of steel and a heart that champions people fiercely. She is the friend who will stand up for you without hesitation, hold you accountable with love, and remind you of your worth when you forget it.

Kali and Des first met years ago in a coffee shop where Des was leading a Bible study and an old friend of Kali's was in her group. Des encourages healthy boundaries, speaks truth even when it’s hard, and points Kali to Christ in a way that sharpens her every single time.

She loves her “granny hobbies,” has a wit sharp enough to slice bread, and brings laughter wherever she goes. Serving with her in youth ministry has been such a gift to Kali.

She’s the friend who makes you better — and the one you’re grateful to have in your corner for life.

Lisa Barker —The Adventurer

Kali's K-pop concert partner, coffee connoisseur, and granola queen! Lisa didn’t want to be Kali's friend at first — apparently Kali's extrovert energy arrived at full volume. But since becoming roomies and dear friends in 2020, they've collected some incredible memories.

They've cold-plunged into a lake in Olympic National Park, tried wild berries and prayed they weren’t poisonous, traveled for concerts, and dissolved into late-night delirious laughter. She’s the friend Kali can text, “Want to go ___?” and she’s instantly in.

Kali is very grateful to have her standing beside them.
