While we would like to spend time with all our family and friends the weekend of the wedding, there are only so many things that we can do one weekend! Therefore, we've put together a few ideas if you're looking for something else to do while you're in town! Depending on what you are interested in doing, there are plenty of options in Frederick, Baltimore, and Washington DC!
Frederick has plenty of local shops and restaurants, and is definitely worth spending some time at if you've never been to the area before. Frederick is also home to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, located across the street from our venue! If breweries are your taste, Frederick has 10 options for you (or ask Nick about the brewery walk if you're feeling adventurous).
Baltimore is home to the Best Aquarium in the country (not just our words, but many travel sites as well!) The National Aquarium in Baltimore is well worth a visit if you're looking for a weekend activity!
Frederick is located 50 miles from the heart of Washington, DC. On the north side of the city is the National Zoo (assessable for free via the Red Line out of Shady Grove or for a small parking fee). It is one of our favorite places to visit year round! The best zoo we've ever been to!
DC is also home to the National Mall, a large stretch of Museums and Monuments covering nearly every subject. You could spend a week touring museums and monuments and never see them all! Our favorites are the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of Natural History.
