Kyle and I first crossed paths in Duluth, Minnesota, during the fall of 2022 when I moved there for school. My roommates were friends with Kyle and introduced us at a birthday gathering. At that time, Kyle was doing a co-op in North Dakota, so our meeting was brief.

When Kyle returned to Minnesota for the spring semester, we started spending more time together within our group. However, it wasn't until our spring break trip to Florida that we began to see each other in a different way (;

After the trip, I subtly inquired about where Kyle worked out, which led to us hanging out one-on-one.

One day, after a workout, Kyle asked me out on a date to Dovetail Coffee. He arrived right on time, climbed my many flights of stairs to greet me, brought a sweet orange rose, and opened every door along the way—he truly swept me off my feet! After about five dates, Kyle asked me to officially be his girlfriend at a chemical engineering banquet on April 30th, 2023.

One of the most surprising parts of our story is that Kyle had already accepted an internship in Omaha at Cargill before we even met. So, after the school year ended, we both ended up in Omaha for the summer! We had an amazing summer together, and after about three months of dating, we both felt that our relationship could be something truly special.

Once summer ended, we returned to UMD and continued making great memories along the North Shore. After graduation in the fall, Kyle accepted a job at Cargill and moved back, while I completed my final semester. Although the long-distance was challenging, it brought us closer together in unexpected ways. During spring break (which seems to be a recurring theme), I visited Nebraska, and Kyle proposed! And that’s where our story truly begins! We’re graduated now with full-time jobs and are both in Omaha!

People often ask if our story is a matter of fate, destiny, or just irony. To us, it's clear that the Lord’s divine intervention has played a significant role in our relationship, and we attribute all the goodness to Him. We're excited to join our lives together and lead a fruitful life in honor of our Savior!
