We met on October 10th 2020, at a country club in Knoxville, TN called the Cotton Eyed Joe. I was there with a friend and her husband just enjoying a much needed night out after going through a lot of changes in my life and no where close to thinking of dating. He was there to get out of the house and have a drink or two dealing with some life changes of his own as well, when our paths crossed. We ended up talking, laughing, dancing and enjoying each others company until the lights came on at closing time. We were surprised it had gotten to be so late. After several dates and getting to spend some time together things started to click in the coming months after meeting. However, life had other plans for us. We had some challenges, long-distance between us and to work on ourselves not knowing where either of us would end up or if we would be together. After some time apart, we met up when he got back from his last deployment in March of 2024. It was like nothing ever changed for us, we just became better versions of ourselves. After this we spend a lot of time apart as he was stationed in NC and I was still living in TN but we became a couple and did long distance traveling a lot each month to see each other when we could. Me more so to him because of the military. In December of 2024, he got out of the military and moved home to me and my daughter Freya. To say the least the first several years was a rollercoaster for the both of us, however we have both become stronger, better versions of ourselves and found the love that we never thought we would have. Fast forward to June 7th, 2025 at our first trip to Disney World with Freya in front of Cinderella's Castle, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I knew not long after we met there was something different about him and that he was my person and after everything we have been through. Here we are creating a life together, supporting and challenging each other to continue being our best self, him stepping into a family and loving a daughter that is not his but loves her as if she were, laughing and loving each other through everything. The good and the not so great times. We are excited to become Husband and Wife and to celebrate that with our family and friends in one of our happy places.
