Looking to pamper yourself or get wedding ready? This is where Kalyn worked as a receptionist for two years. They offer massages, facials, full body waxing, spray tan, brow and lash tinting, brow henna and so much more! You'll be in amazing hands with whatever service you decide to get!
There are a myriad of places to explore and hike in the Hatcher Pass area. We always suggest knowing before you go since Alaska is very wild, and unpredictable.
Bring plenty of water, snacks, layered clothing, bear spray and a gun if you're comfortable (or take someone who is experienced with a gun for safety against bears or other wildlife).
Check the weather prior so you can plan or adjust accordingly. Being in the mountains means the temperature is typically colder, but on nice days, it can get hot and you'll need sunscreen.
Because it is a state recreational area, daily parking fees are required and are cash only. Please bring one's, fives or ten dollar bills considering there is no way to break change.
Up for a small hike with amazing views? The 'Butte' is a fun hike with two trail options; the steep dirt side or the stair side.
July is typically when the sockey (red) salmon are running! Get a fishing license online or at Fred Meyers Grocery Store. You'll want/need hip or chest waders, waterproof shoes/boots and the fishing pole! Feel free to reach out for more details. Seward is the best place to drive to, or you can charter a boat out of Whittier for fishing and sightseeing!
Wasilla lake offers kayak rentals! This is a great way to sight see and have a nice time on the water in one of the lakes.
A great recommendation is to set your kayaks in at Cottonwood Lake and kayak all the way to Wasilla lake through the beautiful little channels and smaller lakes between them. This is a fairly easy but long kayak trip. Reward yourself when you land your kayak on the shores of Everett's Restaurant! There are no rapids considering you're on a lake system and the channels are all calm water.
Pack some snacks, plenty of water, a lifejacket, sunscreen, maybe a towel and clothing you don't mind getting a little wet!
Bike riding, kayaking and walking around Talkeetna is a favorite pastime of many. The food there is delicious. Stop in the Denali brewery to try some ale, beer, wine or mead (The Razzery Mead is my personal favorite)
Girdwood is a rustic luxury getaway right here in Alaska. Check out the Alyeska Resort. They have a brand new Nordic Spa, plenty of hiking and a great place to stay the night. There are numerous breweries and places to eat.
This is Kalyn & Kody's Favorite Restaurant in Anchorage!
INCREDIBLY YUMMY FOOD!!
