Kam and Jonah’s story begins in the most modern way—on a dating app. But this wasn’t just any dating app; it was Upward, a space designed for people seeking meaningful connections rooted in faith. Little did they know, a single swipe would change their lives forever. Jonah was the first to make his move. He was drawn to Kam’s beauty and elegance. He could also tell based on her profile that she loved Jesus and had a radiant light that she spread everywhere. Kam, on the other hand, was drawn to Jonah's height and potential to create D1 babies and make her a stay at home mom. Just kidding, it was his intentionality, pursuit, and goofiness. Their first messages quickly turned into late-night chats filled with laughter, shared dreams, and the kind of honesty that felt refreshingly natural. It wasn’t long before they decided to meet in person. Their first date was simple yet perfect—a dinner date to Jethro's BBQ right after a tornado went through town, where Kam felt like she was going to throw up all night and Jonah thought he had completely butchered the date. Jonah says he knew that Kam was the one, retrospectively, after the first date. On the second date, Kam forwardly asked Jonah what his dating intentions were, and knew after his answer that he was the one. Over time, Kam and Jonah discovered just how much they complemented each other. Jonah's adventurous spirit balanced Kam’s logical and kind nature. Together, they built a relationship grounded in trust, love, openness, and a shared belief that God had answered their prayers by bringing them together at the perfect time. Now, as they prepare to say “I do,” Kam and Jonah are excited to embark on this next chapter of their journey. They are grateful for the unexpected swipe that started it all and for every moment that has brought them to this point. Their love story is a testament to faith, patience, and the beauty of letting God write the narrative. Kam and Jonah can’t wait to celebrate this special day with their family, friends, and the One who brought them together—upward and onward.
