I’m in Williamsburg and want a map of the wedding locations
Sure! Please see the maps below.
When and how do I RSVP?
We're eager to celebrate with you so please let us know whether you'll be joining us as soon as possible but no later than the date indicated on the insert in your Save the Date envelope.
We invite you to RSVP by searching for your name on the RSVP tab of our wedding website.
What if I forget to RSVP before the deadline?
We will miss you celebrating with us, but to ensure that we can provide our venue and vendors with a total guest count in a timely manner, we will not accept late RSVPs.
Can I bring my children (defined as under 21)?
Unfortunately no, due to space constraints.
While we love our under 21 loved ones, we are not able to accommodate them.
Can I bring a plus one?
Unless noted on your RSVP, unfortunately no, due to space constraints.
As you may be aware, we collectively have a large, lovely host of family and friends! If we were able to accommodate an additional seat with your personal invitation, it is noted on your invite.
I’m flying in from out of town. How do I get to Williamsburg?
The closest airport is Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF), located just 20 miles from Williamsburg. Richmond International Airport (RIC) and Norfolk International Airport (ORF) are about 50 minutes away.
From there, it’s probably easiest to take an Uber or rent a car.
I'd like to take the train to Williamsburg. Is there an Amtrak station?
Yes! The Amtrak station is located less than a mile from the ceremony and reception venues. The Northeast Regional Train will drop you off in the heart of downtown Williamsburg, Virginia.
When should I book my hotel?
Lodging in Williamsburg is VERY limited so please book your accommodations as soon as possible.
Where should I stay?

Additionally, you can also seek accommodation options in Newport News/Hampton (30-45 minutes east) or Richmond, VA (60 minutes west). Be sure to account for traffic in your commute time.

How far is the ceremony venue from the reception location?
The venues are located less than a mile away from each other.
Is the wedding outside?
No. Our ceremony will be held INDOORS at Williamsburg United Methodist Church at 4 pm.
The cocktail hour and reception party will also be held INDOORS. As you pack to join us in Williamsburg, account for the few minutes you’ll be OUTDOORS during the transition from the ceremony to the reception venue (~ 1 mile) or if you decide to check out the outdoor spaces at our reception venue.
Should I drive or use ride share in Williamsburg?
We have ample parking available but feel free to carpool with other guests! Parking for the ceremony is available behind the church and parking for the reception is located at Zable Stadium (across from the William and Mary Alumni House). While ride share is available in Williamsburg, demand often exceeds supply resulting in long wait times, so please take this into account.
When should I plan to arrive to the ceremony?
Please plan to be settled in your pew at Williamsburg United Methodist Church by 3:30 pm for our ceremony beginning at 4:00 pm, October 11, 2025. Entry into the sanctuary will be restricted to the balcony area once the ceremony begins and will be at the discretion of our ushers.
What’s the requested attire?
The theme of our nuptials is Bold, Romantic, and Elegant, so we’d love to see our guests get fancy with us in Formal Attire. Since we're exchanging vows during beautiful Virginia autumn, feel free to throw in some deep eggplant, olive, etc. that reflect the depth and warmth of the season.
If you’re like the Groom and love to throw on a tux, be our guest! Formal Attire allows for those who prefer to dress a bit more relaxed than Black Tie to jazz up their favorite dark colored suit with a dress shirt and perhaps some snazzy accessories.
For those wearing dresses or jumpsuits, a midi or floor-length ensemble in earthy autumn tones, paired with a touch of bling, would be perfect!
If your shoes are not best suited for tearing up the dance floor or walking from the car to the venue, you'll want to pack more comfortable shoes.
Although these are suggestions for our special day, please pick what makes you feel comfortable.
I want to make a weekend of my time in Williamsburg! What should I do?
Williamsburg's got a lot! Please see the "Things to Do" section of our website for shopping, entertainment, and food options hand-selected by the Bride and Groom.
How can I get you a gift?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ever request! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home (ask us for the address!). If you’d like to order from our registry, here’s the link https://www.myregistry.com/giftlist/heartsmeltonforsmith or if you’d prefer to gift us in cash, our wedding website has cash fund options under the “registry” tab and we’ll have a wedding card box at our reception.
Will there be an open bar at the reception?
The Bride and Groom are free spirits (abstain from alcohol), but we want our guests to have a great time! We will provide some spirits and mocktails for you to enjoy on us while we celebrate our union.
