Our Wedding

What was your first impression of each other?

Cole: "When I first saw Kamryn I immediately knew that she was THE girl I wanted and had to talk to and hopefully date. At that point I didn’t know her personally but seeing her from a distance I was in awe. As I got to know her, I became more enamored with who she was as a person and couldn’t get my mind off of her."

Kam: "My first impression of Cole was 2 things: tall, dark (wish I had his complexion) and handsome &amp; that he had a heart of gold. You could tell even from just quickly meeting him on the beach that he was special -- he has these sweet, tender, kind eyes that just made me feel so seen. He was a goofball as well, making everyone laugh with jokes and silly banter as well as having a contagious laugh *when you see Cole laugh, like really laugh, it's just so hard not to join in*. As I am normally pretty loud with a large personality, he was shyer and had this genuine feeling about his personality that I was so intrigued by. It drew me in and sparked a sweet friendship very quickly."

How did you meet?

Cole: "We met freshman year student choir mission trip in California. As I said previously I saw her from a far and had to make sure I met her. Thankfully I had some great friends that were able to introduce me to atleast know her name."

Kam: "We met on our first high school choir Mission Trip - freshman year (we were 15) - in Los Angeles, California, on the beach. We had stopped there on our first night to have IN&amp;OUT for dinner on the beach, and the girls I was friends with (shoutout Avery Donohue), who went to school with Cole, introduced us to her HS guy friends *one of them being Cole*. We played random games on the beach &amp; buried each other in the sand after meeting, it was a memory that I'll hold onto forever."

Big moments? When did you know they were the one?

Cole: "I claimed to know that she was the one very shortly after we started dating. We just clicked and felt like we were in our own world at that point. On top of that I think my family knew that I thought she was the one when I started hanging around their family group more cause she was in it."

Kam: "Big moments....haha. One year later, we went on our second choir mission trip to Denver, Colorado. I was assigned to be in his parents' family group. That trip, we spent most of our time together, as he hung out with "his parents" the whole time. We rode on the same bus, ate dinner together, and hung out during our concerts as well. One concert was a fair, and we made matching "friendship" beaded bracelets. I remember making bracelets with him &amp; my stomach just FILLED with butterflies. Something was different, and I was nervous and excited all in one; it was just so easy with him."

Proposal story?

Cole: "A stressful, exciting, memorable, and amazing day all wrapped up into a couple of hours. As I sat downstairs in her house I was waiting for her to get dressed “to grab drinks with friends”. I couldn’t sit still and was pacing around the room and sweating from every possible place a person could. As she came down in the dress that she wanted to be proposed in (thanks to her friends) a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. We got in the car and I probably said more words in that 15 min ride than I ever have before. With the help of a “map error” we ended up near the lake and the dock that I chose. After three passes waiting for a sailboat and people to clear the area I finally said we should go take a picture. As we walked out the photographer I booked said she was waiting for a family shoot and she could take pictures for us. We slowly walked out on the dock, my stomach was in my throat, and I dropped down on a knee and finally got to ask kam if she would marry me. Followed up by lots of tears and laughs we got to finish the night off with friends and family to celebrate."

Kam: "Well, wow, had this been a long time coming &amp; something we had talked about since were just 2 months into dating, dreaming of getting married. So that being said, I think there were a lot of nerves and excitement built up and also a lot of "when is it happeningggg??". I was starting to just prepare for each weekend leading up because I knew he wanted to really surprise me...which he did!! OU/TX weekend was unexpected, as we had family OOT &amp; plans were made that didn't leave room for a proposal to happen. Somehow, with the help of my roomies, I get into a dress that I loved, and I am picked up to go grab drinks with friends. Cole had been so casual and normal that day, I thought that I would maybe know by the way he was acting *HA*. We get in the car and he is talking away, which I just took as maybe he's just in a really good mood lol. As we pull up to the dock, there's a boat with quite a lot of people and I cannot figure out what he's doing because if he was trying to propose I thought "this is a very interesting plan with all these people" which threw me off as well as the fact he told me he was going to do things to throw me off before so I thought maybe this is just a prank. We got out, and my last chance of figuring out if I was getting proposed to was asking the photographer to use our phone instead of her camera...she said no, I had about 30 seconds until Cole was on one knee. My stomach flew and my heart raced, and you can see in the photos, I dropped down with tears down my face as the day I had waited and prayed for was right in front of me, and the love of my life just asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was the most perfect day, Jesus was in all of it, and His presence was just so sure throughout the night. I can't imagine what our wedding day will be like...eeeeek!"

What is one of your favorite things about each other? 

Cole: "I adore how loving and caring Kam is all the time. She cares and loves all her friends as if they are family. She loves me incredibly well and knows how to serve me and fill my cup, even if that means tag along with me to play golf. She truly is one of kind and makes everyone around her feel that way as well."

Kam: "One of my favorite things about Cole is his heart. He truly is one of my most selfless humans I have ever met. I always tell him and those around us that he truly embodies Christ's sacrificial love to me so well. He chooses to serve others over himself always and does it with joy. It's an honor to learn from him, and it encourages me to love others better without anything in return. It doesn't matter if he's known you for 30 seconds or 10 years, he will serve you and will give you the shirt off his back. What a gift it is to know him!!!"

What are you most excited about to marry the other person?

Cole: "I am so excited to get to do normal life with her. Making dinners, hanging out at home, or going on date nights. Being around her constantly is truly a gift and as boring as it may sound being able to do the normal daily activities is exciting to me. Also eventually owning a couple of Bernese mountain dogs excited me as well."

Kam: "I am so excited to do life with my FAVORITE PERSON!!! It is such a gift to genuinely just love to spend time together doing the mundane &amp; I can't wait to cook and bake together, to wake up with each other and walk to coffee, try new restaurants, make dreams and goals for our family, serve at our church together, travel, get a dog (or dogs :)), learn new things about each other and so much more. Also, definitely excited to not live 40 minutes away from each other -- I know he will make me a better follower of Jesus, wife, daughter, friend, sister, and so much more! LET'S GET MARRIED @ COLE COWMAN!"

Flights

Guests should plan to travel to Charleston Airport (CHS) for the easiest arrival. CHS Airport is approx. 15-30 mins away from Downtown Charleston &amp; it is easy to coordinate a ride share pick-up to and from your destination. Please note, there are very few direct flights into Charleston. So we urge guests to make the travel plans as soon as possible to lock in the best flight options.
