How We Met

It all started when Kara and Colton’s paths crossed at Sam Houston State University. Introduced through a mutual friend during their last year of earning their bachelor’s degrees, what began as a simple introduction quickly turned into something much more. From the very beginning, there was a spark that neither of them could ignore.

The First Date

Their first date was to the movies, a night full of laughter and easy conversation. But the evening didn’t end there—Colton joined Kara afterward to help her study for a big Soil Science exam. Looking back, it’s clear that this mix of fun and support was the start of something truly special.

The Proposal

On July 20th, 2023, Colton asked Kara the easiest question she’s ever had to answer: “Will you marry me?” Kara believed they were heading to a steak dinner to celebrate Gill and Kevin’s anniversary, but little did she know the evening was really planned just for her. What started as an ordinary night quickly turned into one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. With a mix of surprise, happy tears, and pure joy, Colton’s proposal captured everything about who they are as a couple—thoughtful, full of love, and always finding ways to make life special together
