Hunter & Kara actually went to high school together, but had never officially met. It wasn't until April of 2021, that they both happened to be at the same bonfire and bonded over a game of "yard pong." The next morning, Kara became an FBI agent, found Hunter's facebook, and messaged him right away. A few days later, Hunter picked up milkshakes and they met at a local park to get to know one another more.

The First Day and Dating

For their first official date, Hunter took Kara to a nice restaurant downtown and they went on a drive on the parkway. They talked about everything from funny bear encounters to their loved ones that had passed away. Even Kara crying on the first date didn't turn Hunter away and he asked for permission to kiss her. After many more times of talking together and seeing each other, they officially began dating on 05/27/2021.

The following year, they would take turns visiting each other on weekends as Kara finished her last year of nursing school, and Hunter was working full-time. Summer of 2022, Kara finally graduated nursing school and moved out of her basement apartment to live with Hunter and his mom, (shoutout Julie). Then in November of 2022, Hunter & Kara moved into their own townhouse together.

After months of trying to find a home and getting their hopes up and then down, they bought their FIRST home on December 19th, 2024. The house number was an even number (you know if you know Hunter), came with a bird bath, and a cat door was already installed in one of the bedroom doors for Owen. December 19th also happens to be the wedding anniversary of Kara's Nana and Bop-Bop. It was truly meant to be.

The "Yes" Day

A couple months later, on 03/08/2025, Hunter asked Kara to marry her. Kara had just finished doing a "self-care day" with her sister, getting their hair and nails done. Hunter took advantage of the moment and offered to take Kara out to a nice dinner. A spur of the moment decision by Hunter led them to Hazy Mountain Vineyard and Brewery for drinks. Once outside on the patio, Hunter asked a random woman to take a panoramic video of the view, and that is when Hunter purposed.

Kara had learned that had been keeping the ring in the gun cabinet since December, and had asked her entire family for permission. Hunter had even been carrying the ring with him in his jacket pocket or boots when they would go out on dates, just waiting for the right moment.

After the heightened emotions of the moment and the amount of time Kara spent ugly crying, a fancy dinner was overrun by the need for Kara to shove a burger in her face. The most amazing evening ended at Chilis and then on the road calling their friends and family to tell them the news.

The Best Day

~ We are so excited to experience the beginning of our marriage surrounded by our friends and family. We are so thankful for all of the love and support that we have received. Hunter and I knew early on into our relationship that we had something different and special together. We can't wait to celebrate our story and this new chapter with you all!
