Layne and Kara met at Maranatha Baptist University in 2023 where they were both studying to work in church ministries in some capacity. On February 1, 2024, they officially started dating, not knowing that their journey together would be shaped by long-distance, late-night calls, and countless "I miss you" moments.

Dating from afar wasn't always easy, but through every challenge, their love grew stronger. They learned patience, trust, and how to treasure the time they did get to spend together.

On April 21, 2025, at Tivoli Island Park in Watertown, WI, they were officially engaged surrounded by friends, family, and much support and joy.

Now, as they prepare for their future together, they do so with hearts full of gratitude - first to God, who brought them together, and then to all the people who encouraged them along the way.
