Kara and Devin first met in Midhurst, when they both rented rooms from their mutual friends. Kara lived in the basement apartment while Devin rented a room upstairs. The two of them always got along and would purposely plan "roommate activities" so they could hangout together. These included game nights, watching The Office and spending way too much time in the hot tub. Overtime it was evident that their situation was more than just "roomates" (though Devin still to this day refers to Kara as that), Kara decided to tell Devin they were dating (LOL). In Fall of 2019, they were FB official.

Fast forward to March 2020 when Covid overtook the world. While everyone was panicking and stocking up on excessive amounts of toilet paper, Kara and Devin were enjoying the sunshine and cold beers on a beach in Florida. Their relaxing vacation vibes quickly changed when they got home from their trip and realized "oh shit, covid really is a thing". They were then forced to actually become roommates, when Devin moved downstairs to the basement where they quarantined together for 2 weeks.

Those 2 weeks, Kara and Devin REALLY got to know each other. Devin learned that Kara is not a morning person, she likes to eat goldfish with every meal and she always talks extremely loud. Kara learned that Devin only yells when he is playing Call of Duty with his friends, he like to eat chicken wings for every meal and he takes way longer than her in the washroom. Despite the chaos and close proximity, Kara and Devin only continued to care more and more for each other. They also realized they should probably find a bigger space to live so Kara can sleep and Devin can game in peace.

Kara and Devin rented a townhouse together. All four of them were happy (Kara, Devin, their cat Nala and dog Marley). But Devin wanted to make their family bigger. On their one year anniversary, Devin got Kara another dog named Paisley. If we are being honest here, the dog was for him but Kara didn't mind. They now own a petting zoo with all their pets and lived happily ever after. The end.

Kara, Dev and their fur babies made it through covid and upgraded their roommate situation once again when they bought their first home in Barrie together. They have enjoyed every minute of creating a home together!

Fast forward to March 2023 and Kara was politely harassing Devin to, as Beyoncé says "put a ring on it". She tried to subtly give Devin the hint but sending pictures of what she was doing while he was at work (cooking, reading, walking the dogs) with a photo of her BARE left hand blocking the shot. While on their annual March Break trip to Florida, Devin finally got the hint decided to go ring shopping with Kara and his mom Rhonda. Together they picked the most perfect ring. Kara was not engaged yet. Devin waited 1 painful (but worth it) month to propose to Kara. His method of teaching her delayed gratification. It worked! It was well worth the wait.

Kara and Devin love nothing more than spending time with their animals. This made Devin's proposal perfect. On April 22, 2023 Devin woke Kara up by jumping into bed with all their pets. With all 5 of them snuggled in, Devin pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed. Kara quickly said yes and then they spent the rest of the morning at Vetta Spa enjoying each others company and panicking every 5 minutes that Kara would lose her ring in one of the cold pools. They successfully left the spa with the ring on Kara's finger and love in their hearts. AWWHHH so cute.

That's it. That is their love story! A great one at that. They can't wait to have their friends and family join them in celebrating their love and becoming forever roommates on July 27, 2024.
