Charles: An aspiring dentist who was taking prerequisite classes at CSU. He joined a church group at Mill City to form friends and find community; after moving from Virginia. Little did he know that he would find the love of his life....

Kara: Social worker that was seeking a new church community and made a good choice in her roommate, Jenny. Kara lived with Jenny for many years but had no idea that through Jenny, Kara would meet a strapping southern boy named Charles.

Charles and Kara first met at Kara's house warming party in September of 2018. Kara and her roommates were making sure everyone felt welcome at the party so they greeted every guest who walked in. Charles walked through the garage to the backyard and Kara was the one to greet him. Charles introduced himself to Kara and they chatted about where he was from and what he was doing in Fort Collins. After the conversation, Kara assumed Charles had a girlfriend or was engaged and was 35 years old. This was due to his clean cut hair, polo shirt, and Rainbow flip flops. He just seemed more mature than Kara and definitely had his life together. Charles thought Kara was a very nice girl.

From September to November, Kara and Charles interacted every now and then through the City Group Jenny led at their house. In November, Jenny invited Kara to help a friend move. Charles was also helping with the move and eventually through Jenny and Charles' mutual love for British television, Charles went over to Kara's house to watch a show. During his time at the house and a little help from some wine, Kara interrogated Charles on why he would ever leave financial planning to be a dentist. Kara also established that she was a strong independent woman who didn't need a man because she just bought her own leaf blower....

The next day, Charles attended a Bunco party hosted at Kara's house and eventually played Spike Ball with Kara until about 2 am. Kara and Charles made a good team and even won some games. In the same weekend, Charles was studying with some friends from his church group. Not wanting to miss out on anything Kara thought she would join them but just read a random book she found on her bookshelf. Kara bought Charles coffee just so that he would stay awake and get an A on his test.

While Kara was at work the next day she received a text from Charles asking to pay her back for the coffee. Kara refused and told him that he didn't need to worry about paying her back. Charles was insistent and told her he liked to pay back his debts. Kara thought that was weird but didn't want him to be in turmoil for having coffee debt. Two days later and a big debate on if it was a date or not, Kara met with Charles at Starry Night in downtown Fort Collins. Four hours later and shutting down the restaurant, Kara still doubted that it was a date. However, when Charles asked to kiss her goodnight, she was quick to realize that it was in fact a date. This is how Kara received the nickname "Clueless in Colorado".....

From that point on, there was no turning back. Charles and Kara grew to know that this was going to be forever. Charles proposed on 8/24/2019 at The Denver Performing Arts Center. Kara and Charles are excited for their upcoming journey and are so thankful for you to be part of it!
