Karalynn and Zachary met on Upward in August of 2024. Their first date was at El Rodeo in Roanoke Virginia (halfway meeting point between Floyd and Lynchburg). What was supposed to be a 1-2 hour date turned into 7 hours of talking and exploring Roanoke. It was during this time they discovered that they had actually crossed paths 4 years earlier back in 2020 when Zachary was in the military and when Karalynn was working at Sheetz during college.

Karalynn and Zachary officially started dating on August 21st. They took turns driving to visit each other every weekend. They both enjoy being outdoors, reading, exercising, and watching Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Though the long distance relationship was difficult, they Facetimed every night, sharing each other's day and talking about their future. One of the biggest blessings of their relationship is how the Lord is at the center of it. They both have grown in their faith and encourage each other in their walk with Christ.

After receiving her parents' blessing, Zachary proposed to Karalynn on February 22, 2025 at Chateau Morrisette. They will be honeymooning in San Diego California and will be living in Floyd Virginia after the wedding.
