A match made online and a gentleman from the start. Chatting online he impressed me with his candor and humour. In person he was sweet, kind and thoughtful. Many, many months after our first date we decided to advance the relationship to meeting our respective families. An intimidating step for sure! Three grown children that had "flown the coop" and five at home made for an interesting mix. Thankfully everyone was willing and dove in!

We found many common interests and he was willing to learn a new one (he got his motorcycle license the second summer we were together).

On June 1, 2017 my Sweetheart and I went out for dinner and on the way home we stopped at a park we had often walked through together. I thought it was a little odd because it was quite cold that evening and he was only wearing a shirt (should have had a jacket). After a few steps through the park he surprised me by dropping to his knee and proposed. I was so happy and said YES of course!

A month later we decided it was crazy to keep two houses a block apart from each other, so I sold my place and we made a home together and never looked back.

She was born in Manitoba and called a few places home before settling in Ottawa where he was born and raised. She has three beautiful children, he has five. Together they are Karen and Jeff and this is their story.

Two people met for a drink in a local pub and decided, eventually, that there was something a little more to it. Soon there would be a few more meetings and Karen and Jeff began to take shape. Feelings grew stronger, families were introduced, feelings continued to grow, addresses changed, feelings grew stronger still, trips were taken, lives were merging together.

Karen and Jeff met March 2015 and were engaged on June 1, 2017. June 1, 2019 Karen and Jeff will be taking the final step that couples take when they have found that perfect partner and want to spend the rest of their lives together.
