Airports

1. Fly into San Luis Obispo: San Luis Obispo (SBP) is the nearest airport with regular service by Alaska, American and United Airlines. From San Luis Obispo, it’s only a 40 minute drive to Paso Robles.

2. Drive from LAX or SFO: If you’re after that California road trip experience, Paso Robles is a fantastic destination from either San Francisco or Los Angeles.

· From San Francisco, we recommend driving down the Pacific Coast Highway (CA Route 1), which is widely considered one of the most scenic routes in the world. Be sure to plan extra time as the Pacific Coast Highway has many twists and turns. You will also want to stop and take in the views It will take about 6 hours to get to Paso Robles, but it’s absolutely freaking gorgeous and something you will never forget The most efficient drive is on US 101, which is still pretty but not as beautiful. Plan on about 3 hours for this route

· From Los Angeles, it takes 3 hours driving up Interstate 5, or 4 hours driving up US 101 to get to Paso Robles. US 101 is prettier and we think worth the extra hour.

Note on traffic: Los Angeles and San Francisco are world famous for traffic. Rush hour traffic can easily turn a 4 hour trip into 6. We highly recommend planning around peak traffic times, which are between 7 and 10 in the morning and 3 and 7 in the evening.
