After a combined five decades of life, a couple of plot twists (aka previous marriages), and a lot of growth, we’ve decided to throw the kind of party we always dreamed of — not just for us, but for every aunt, uncle, cousin, and kid who’s ever done the chicken dance at a family reunion. We’re getting married at Lake Robbins Ballroom — a vintage Iowa gem with the original 1931 hardwood dance floor, legendary live music history, and plenty of room to two-step, line dance, or just sway offbeat with someone you love. This isn’t about having a Cinderella moment. It’s about having a together moment. A come-as-you-are, boots-or-heels, bring-your-best-moves kind of celebration. Because at this stage of life, we’ve realized something important: the only events that get the whole family in one room are usually weddings... or funerals. (And we’re not planning one of those anytime soon!) So let’s make this one count.
