Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport / Tulum Airport (TQO) will be opening in March. You can already book flights into that airport for July.
What about airport transportation?
Roundtrip airport transportation costs around $125 per couple/private car. Once you have your flight information please share it with me (either in the RSVP or via text). Our wedding coordinator, Alain, will send an email to help you organize your airport shuttle. Check with your hotel first to see if they provide a free airport shuttle.
How is transportation around Tulum?
We will be providing private transportation to the three wedding events. Uber does not operate in Tulum, however taxis are available and safe (they do accept US currency as well as credit card if needed). If you want to be near restaurants and shops near downtown Tulum, we recommend that you choose a hotel in walking distance to reduce the need for transportation. If you hope to get around a lot, you may want to rent a car through Discover Cars.
Is Tulum safe?
Tulum is predominately a tourist city. It is safe for people to be out in the evenings and you should not feel in danger. That being said, it is not recommended that you go out alone or be walking late at night in secluded streets. It is better to stick closer to the downtown area if you're walking around. Keep your valuable items safe or back at your hotel. Be street smart wherever you go.
