Hello to our nearest and dearest!
We are so excited to celebrate with you at our February 26 wedding - we've had a blast reading your wedding advice and song requests as we've continued planning (and in some cases, they've provided a much needed laugh for us).
It's hard to believe we are 7 weeks away - and also hard to believe we are still planning against COVID. We'd be remiss to not acknowledge the Omicron surge - however, based on historical surge data and recent projections, we are hopeful to be in a better position by late February. This message is the first of two you will receive to help you understand COVID requirements governing our venue, and therefore our wedding.
Columbia Winery Requirements
Columbia Winery is requiring all visitors to either be fully vaccinated or test negative for COVID19 within 72 hours of entering the venue. As the Bride and Groom, Ryan and I are required to ensure each of you meet this criteria. We are so grateful to have such a high vaccination rate amongst our guests and have no doubt you will help us do our part to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.
ACTIONS WE NEED YOU TO COMPLETE
Action: Send proof of your full vaccination via email (preferred) or text to either Ryan or Kari
Due Date: February 12, 2022
FAQ:
How is 'Fully Vaccinated' Defined?
We are adhering to CDC guidelines:
- A 2-dose series of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), or
-A single-dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine)
What if I am in the middle of my vaccination series (i.e. only have received one shot)?
Please wait until you are fully vaccinated to send your proof of vaccination
What if I am uncomfortable sharing a picture of my vaccination card?
We understand folks have different comfort levels in all-things COVID related. If you are uncomfortable sharing a picture of your vaccination card, you will be required to send proof of a negative COVID test, taken no earlier than Feb 23, 2022
Is your venue requiring boosters?
At this point in time, no. However, as we all know COVID requirements are subject to change without advance notice. We encourage all of our attendees to get boosted (we are :) )
I'm not from Washington State, where can I find out more about their COVID regulations?
We encourage you to visit the King County COVID19 resource page (link at the bottom of this email AND on our wedding website). At a high-level, you may be required to show proof of vaccination/a negative test for multiple indoor venues in Washington State
What's Next?
You will receive a second and final COVID19 update email from us in mid-February with updated guidance/directions. This email will be posted to the COVID19 section of our website (however without our contact info as it is publicly-facing)

As of October 25th, 2021, King County (where our venue is located) will require every person entering the Columbia Winery building to show a valid proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test (taken within 72 hours of the event). Without proof at the door, you will not be allowed into the building.
Please only enter through the private event entrance (there is signage) and NOT the tasting room. Columbia also kindly asks you arrive no earlier than 5:30 PM on Saturday, February 26.
For more information, including what forms of vaccination verification will be accepted, please visit the King County website or contact Columbia Winery directly (links/contact info below). We will continue to update this page with changes to any policies, so please check this section of the website again before traveling!
