Karin and Jose are both PhD candidates in the psychology department at GMU. Karin’s PhD is in the Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience concentration studying the learning and memory in mice with Alzheimer’s disease. Jose’s PhD is in the Human Factors concentration studying driving behavior in older individuals. Karin and Jose met at George Mason University as PhD students in the psychology department. 
They met up and got coffee and went to a Pokémon raid on their first date. They share a love of board games, movies, great food and friends. Karin and Jose have been together for 3.5 years and have helped each other survive during the pandemic quarantine.

We wish so much that we could celebrate this momentous moment with family and friends, since family and friends means so much to both of us, but due to the current climate of the world, we are unable to do so safety at this moment.
