Q + A

Where to stay?

We have reserved a block of cabins and lodge suits at FivePine in Sisters, where the wedding will take place. Please let us know if you would like our help with the reservations, or call FivePine directly at (541) 549-5900. Make sure to mention that you are part of the Karina & Neil's wedding. See "Travel" page for more details.

Should I stay at FivePine resort for all the days?

Even though we have a block of cabins and suites available between Thursday and Sunday, feel free to book any nights that you are planning to stay in the area and celebrate with us.

Which airport should I fly into?

Portland International Airport (PDX) is most likely to have most connections and be most affordable. Make sure to look for Portland, Oregon (not Portland, Maine). Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) is another option with shorter commute to Sisters where the ceremony will take place.

Is there any transportation available from Portland to Sisters?

Best bet would be to use a rental car. Portland is about 2 hours and 45 minutes away from Sisters.

Is there any transportation available from Redmond to Sisters?

Redmond is about 30 minutes away from Sisters, which means Uber might be the most affordable option. Having a rental car could be a good option for more flexibility or day trips once in Sisters. Sisters is more remote and might have limited taxi/Uber available during the weekend.

What to wear?

Ceremony and Reception are both formal attire. All other events are casual.

Is FivePine dog friendly?

The cabins and lodge suits in our block are all pet free, however there are few cabins at the property that are pet friendly. Please ask about availability when making the reservation if you are planning to bring your dogs. Please keep in mind there will be no dogs allowed in the reception area.

Can I bring a plus one?

Please refer to your invitation to confirm if we are able to accommodate your guest. Due to capacity constraints we attempted to plan accordingly. Please reach out to us in case you would like to bring a guest that was not included on the invitation.

What's the weather like in August in Sisters?

Sisters is located at a fairly high elevation (~3k ft) in between Willamette National Forest and high desert of Central Oregon. In August, the temperatures can reach high 80s during the day, but quickly cool down at night to 40s at night.

What about forest fires?

Over the recent years, there have been quite a few forest fires in the area. Since the wedding is taking place in August, there is an elevated chance of active forest fires in the area. Most likely impact will be poor air quality, and we will manage our activities accordingly (lean toward indoor vs outdoor time). Unless there is an active fire within close proximity of the venue, the wedding would still take place but the ceremony might be moved indoors. In the meantime, we are crossing our fingers that it will not be an issue.
