Once upon a time...Karina and Clay had one class together at The University Of Central Arkansas the spring semester of 2022. Karina had missed the first day of class because she forgot that the class existed, the second meeting she attended via zoom with just a few other classmates as most attended in person. Though Karina had noticed Clay first during that zoom where she saw him sitting in class, she had decided to take a break from dating. She liked his curly hair and his glasses but was not looking for a relationship so she decided to forget about him. The third class meeting she began attending in person. It was then that Clay noticed her, turning up to class late (as usual), and took an interest in her, occasionally stealing glimpses. Clay thought Karina was pretty and mysterious and he wanted to ask her out but he was nervous and Karina kept leaving as soon as class was over, he didn't even have a chance to talk to her. After a remote class, Clay got Karina's name and like the true modern romance that this is, he looked her up and added her on instagram. She got this notification but since the profile picture was that of Clay as a child, she didn't know who it was. She added him back later that day, this was when she noticed he was the boy from class. Clay still wanted to ask Karina out in person but time ran out as Spring break arrived and Karina went home to Rogers. Meanwhile Karina was deciding how to message Clay. While driving to Rogers and talking on the phone about what the say to Clay, she received a message which read "Hey, I know this is completely out of the blue, but would you like to go out for coffee sometime." Karina was so excited and as soon as she got home she messaged back "I would love to." Over the break they would text more and even talk on the phone for hours. They set up a date for after the break and decided on boba. Not everything was smooth sailing as Karina was still skeptical and needed time. They began hanging out on campus without the pressure of dates, it was in the library on campus where Karina started to fall for Clay after he made her laugh. A few more dates went by and on May 9th of 2022 Clay asked Karina to be his girlfriend. Karina noted that with Clay things were easy, he made his intentions known early on and was quick to reassure her and validate her. Clay liked how easy Karina was to talk to, he felt he could be himself and things felt natural. Though they are opposites in many ways, they found their personalities complemented each other and soon they fell deep in love. Months passed, Karina graduated college and about a year later, so did Clay. They decided to stay together no matter what and after two years and nine months of dating, Clay asked Karina to be his wife by the water and under the stars in Hot Springs. She said yes of course. It was the easiest yes she had ever said. Karina and Clay are in love but they maintain that they are best friends above all else. Now they have been together for three years, they have two cats and are excited to live happily ever after.
