Our story starts late May of 2014, at Clarks Hill Lake, the summer before our junior year of high school. We were just two 16 year olds going to hang out with a group of friends for a day on the water. Once him and his friends pulled up to the dock to pick my girlfriends and I up, we were casually introduced by mutual friends. Corey made his first move that day by trying to “wink” at me while I watched him ride the wake board behind the boat. Despite his efforts, he ended up just blinking aggressively…I laughed of course. All these years later he’ll still try to blame his mess up on water getting in his eye. Either way, the botched wink started a spark. Little did we know it would lead to us being high school sweethearts.
We started dating at the beginning of our junior year. Corey was at Fox Creek and I was at Augusta Christian. We loved getting to watch each other’s sporting events, going to all our proms/homecomings together, hanging out with our friends, and attending youth group at Kiokee. Life was sweet and simple. We still cherish all the memories we made together enjoying our last two years of high school.
In attempt to make a ten year long story short…
We took some time apart during college to grow and mature on our own. But even then, something always pulled us back to each other. We started steady again in April 2019, and have been together ever since.
We have been so blessed to make lots of new memories together as the seasons of life have changed. We have been able to celebrate each other as we both started our careers in healthcare. Love on Gunner and Millie Grace(our pups), as they became best friends. Invest in old friendships, and make the sweetest new ones. Take fun trips with friends/family. And Corey even made the move across the river to Georgia!
March 15, 2024, we got engaged on Hilton Head Island! Followed by a weekend of celebration that Corey planned with the help of some of our close friends! It was more than a girl could ever hope for. I honestly don’t think anything could have made it any sweeter. We will forever hold those memories close to our heart!
Ten years of history has brought us through some highs and lows. But it also brought a lot of opportunities to love, support, and choose each other. We have grown and changed a lot since we were 16, but we’re thankful for how the Lord has guided our journey. We are also grateful to all of our friends and family who have loved and supported us through the years, individually and together. Ya’ll are so important to us! We truly would not be who we are today without your influence, prayers, and wisdom in our lives. Thank you!
And so, we open a new chapter of our story, as husband and wife! We ask that you continue to pray for us and our marriage as we prepare to become one. We cannot wait to celebrate with each and every one of you this spring! See you, March 15, 2025!!
