It all started in August 2023 with a simple coffee at Starbucks—but what began as casual conversation quickly turned into something much more. From the very beginning, we were drawn to each other’s perspectives on life, love, and meaning. What started as curiosity soon deepened into connection.

As we dated, our bond grew through shared values, honest conversations, and a shared desire for something real. With time, clear intentions, and a beautiful recommitment to Jesus, our story took root. And then James came for Karly—fast, fearless, and full of forever.

We got engaged during a quiet, intimate moment on a beach in San Diego. With the ocean behind us and Karly’s youngest son capturing it all on video, it was the sweetest beginning to the rest of our lives.

At the heart of our relationship is a deep friendship, mutual respect, and an unshakable love. We are realist romantics - grounded in truth but always believing in the beauty of love. The lotus has become a symbol for us: no mud, no lotus. Life can try to put love through it, but we built this to bloom everlasting.
