Andy and I's story is one of a kind. I knew he was the one the moment I met him. I had math class with Andy's dad (Dennis), not knowing Andy yet. I always gave his dad a hard time in class, but not in a disruptive way. If you know Dennis, you know that he needs someone to give him a hard time. I would tell him that I was going to marry one of his sons (at this point, I had never even met either of his sons). To which he replied, "You will absolutely not go near any of my sons, and it will be a cold day in H-E-L-L when that happens." Low and behold, I had gotten home from volleyball practice one day when I had a pending message on facebook from Andy Goettl. It had said "u got snap". Very romantic. But--I like to add to the plot, so I gave him my snapchat information, and we began talking from there. I can only imagine the look on Dennis' face when Andy had told him that he was talking to me. The texting became more frequent, and we eventually wanted to hang out. I first had met him at one of his club baseball games. I still remember how beaming his smile was, and how I automatically fell in love with him. He had the kindest eyes and he was so confident coming up to talk to me. I knew at that moment that he was the one. We began dating on August 22, 2016--the second easiest "yes" of my life. We spent the next six years growing so close together. We went through so many rough patches--but we always fought for one another. No problem, big or small, was a match for our relationship. Fast forward to December of 2022, we bought our first home together, and it didn't take us long to get two fur babies--Bohdi and Sully. In December of 2023, Andy proposed in our home. He surprised me after my first day of work at my new job. He taped pictures of us all over our house, leading back to him in our bedroom. That was my first easiest "yes." I cannot wait to say "I do" to my best friend of 8 years, and to spend the absolute rest of my life with him. Andy is truly my soulmate, and I am so thankful to God that I have found him so quickly in life.
My side of the story started out in summer of 2016. Karly was in the morning lifting session and I was in the session after her, and my eye caught a good looking girl doing a work out. I asked my buddy who is that and he said "that's Karly Nikolai". I had no idea who that was at the time, so after I got home for the day I looked her up on Facebook. A couple of days go by and I finally get the courage to text her on Facebook messenger and she apparently didn't mind my lazy "you got snap" message, because she still gave it to me. It started off her watching my baseball games and then hanging out at a friend's house together in the summer. Then came school, she came to all of my football games and I came and lead the student section at the volleyball games. From there we grew together so much from moving to different cities, to buying our first house together, and buying two amazing dogs. All the fun moments, and memories I wouldn't trade them for the world, and I can't wait to marry the most amazing person in the world.
