In 1995, Karrigan’s parents, Chris and Shawna, bought their first home at the lake with the support from realtor, Jeff Krantz, Jacob’s dad! The Calton Family moved to the lake in 2003 and Jacob and Karrigan both attended school at Osage Beach Elementary. Karrigan was in the grade above Jacob and the only reason she knew of him was from the numerous times that she saw Jacob sitting in Mrs. Pirch’s office - the principal’s office! After the years at OBE, Karrigan went on to Camdenton Schools and Jacob moved to School of the Osage in 5th grade. Many years went by before they saw each other again.


After Karrigan graduated from the University of Missouri, she moved back home to begin her teaching career. Jacob was back at the lake as well and was just starting in real estate. On March 26th, 2021, Karrigan and her best friend, Bailey, went out for some drinks at Alley Cats. That was when she noticed Jacob standing on the other side of the bar. She turned to Bailey and said, “Oh my gosh, that's Jacob Krantz”. Karrigan walked straight up to him and said, “Hi! Do you remember me?” Jacob, in fact, did remember Karrigan and they spent the rest of the night talking and dancing. After about a year of dating on and off, Jacob officially asked Karrigan to be his girlfriend on January 26th, 2022 - the rest is history!
