On the heels of a Covid lockdown, during the spring of 2021, Karthik and Ruchi made their fateful swipe on the hinge dating app. As an aspiring doctorate in the field of behavior analysis, Ruchi strives for structure, consistency, and order in all aspects of her life. This seemed to be in stark juxtaposition to Karthik, a financial advisor with a passion for spontaneity, variability, and a healthy dash of chaos. Throughout the initial first dates, they learned about their shared passions for family, cooking, music, and dancing. On their fourth date, Karthik captured Ruchi’s heart with a mediocre bowl of Maggie noodles and his rendition of Chura Liya. Over the next few years, Karthik embraced Ruchi’s passion for the outdoors by going on more hikes (although reluctantly), and Ruchi began her dreaded but eventually enjoyable journey into video games. What followed were many family vacations, dance projects, cook books, games, hikes, and parties with friends. Eventually, on March 09, 2024, Karthik proposed to the “spice of his life,” Ruchi Shah on the summit of Mount Monadnock. They are excited to get married on July 19th 2025, and share this day with their loved ones.
