Ian and Karyn met in 2013 at Broad Creek Venturing summer camp. They were fifteen, an hour apart, and without the freedom to drive—but they quickly formed a connection that felt special. That first year was filled with late-night phone calls that stretched past 4 a.m., shared laughter, and a friendship that felt a little like young love. You could call them camp sweethearts.Over the years, their paths crossed again and again. Timing was never quite right—whenever they reconnected, one of them always seemed to be with someone else—but the feelings never fully faded. No matter how much time passed, they always found their way back to each other.In 2021, everything finally aligned. Ian realized what his heart had known for years—he loved Karyn. They were honest, confessed their feelings, and chose each other. Ian patiently waited until Karyn felt ready, knowing that whether she became his wife or remained his best friend, she would always be part of his life.They began dating in August 2021, turning a lifelong friendship into the love story it was always meant to be. Four years later, in front of Dark Hollow Falls at Shenandoah National Park, Ian asked Karyn to marry him—proof that the best love stories are worth the wait.

Dress to impress! Our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail. Suggest cocktail, tea, midi or floor length dresses for women and suits for men. Black or dark navy is preferred for all guests. Our wedding colors are teal and burgundy, so please avoid if possible.
