It all started on Halloween in 2008... Kasey was looking for someone to go trick or treating with and decided to ask her good friend Evan. Evan was already hanging out with Roger that day, so Roger tagged along. Kasey and Roger instantly had crushes on each other, but hid their feelings. A little over a year later, they started talking nonstop via AIM and text.

On February 4, 2010, Roger finally asked Kasey to be his girlfriend. It was the start of their relationship journey as Highschool Sweethearts. Kasey was a junior at Mepham High School, Roger a sophomore.

Roger helped make Kasey's 18th birthday a memorable one. A big party was held at her parents' house. Roger and Kasey celebrated a year of dating just the week before.

Roger accompanied Kasey to her prom. A kickoff to many dancing events together.

Roger saw Kasey finish high school and helped her prepare for the unknown of going away to college. Kasey went to Marist in the fall of 2011 while Roger attended his final year of high school.

That first semester was tough, as it was the beginning of being long distance. Kasey came home as often as she could, and Roger visited her at Marist, too.

Roger visited Kasey for their two-year anniversary. That weekend, he gave her a promise ring. It was a promise that they would stay together, and some day be married.

Kasey successfully surprised Roger for his birthday, taking the train home from Marist for the first time. With the help of the Lui family and all of their friends, the surprise was successfully executed.

Roger was finally graduating high school, too. Kasey was his prom date, just like he was hers.

The next year was a little easier since Roger began his education at SUNY New Paltz, which was only a short 20 minute bus drive across the Hudson River. Kasey and Roger took turns taking that bus trip between their colleges each weekend.

Summers through their college careers were full of fun memories, but most memorable were the week-long trips to the Poconos with their friends. The Poconos will always be a special place for Roger and Kasey.

Kasey had her car for her final two years at college, so the visits between Marist and New Paltz were more frequent. Memories were made at college parties, hikes at Mohonk and Lake Minewaska, watching Roger play in volleyball club, sitting by the Hudson River, shopping and eating on Main Street in New Paltz, and growing closer to the New Paltz gang.

Roger attended Kasey's senior formal with her just before her graduation. It was a fun night of dancing to close out her college career.

Kasey graduated from Marist with Roger by her side as she ventured into the unknown world of finding a job. Roger still had another year and a half of school to finish before he would be in the job realm, too. And so they were back to long distance, with the roles reversed.

After a summer of trying to figure out her career and enjoy the time she had with Roger before he returned to school, Roger returned to New Paltz. Kasey visited whenever she could, and New Paltz became her home away from home. In November of 2015, she finally found a job she loved: working at North Shore Animal League.

In August of 2016, just before Roger had to go back to school one last time, Kasey brought her work home with her and began fostering Minnie. Little did she know she was bringing home some competition. Minnie became a boyfriend stealer immediately. They didn't foster her for long because she quickly stole everyone's hearts. She became an official Corona at the end of October 2016.

Roger's final semester was the fall of 2016. He and a few of his close friends needed a few more credits to graduate. Kasey continued to make frequent trips up to New Paltz to see him and their friends.

Roger was finally home again and on the hunt for a job. Kasey was just happy he was home, and they were inseparable once again. It was a new phase of their journey: enjoying their 20s together out of school.

Roger began working at BAE Systems, using his engineering degree. Their other friends began finding their footing and using their college education, too. There was a lot to celebrate.

Kasey accepted a job in another department at North Shore Animal League where she could further her administrative skills and build her resume. The annual summer party at their friend Doug's turned into a congratulations bash with all of their friends from home, New Paltz, and North Shore Animal League. It was a night to remember.

In September 2017, they went on a friends trip to New Orleans and crossed something off the bucket list. It was a weeklong vacation full of exploring, drinking, and eating amazing food. One of their favorite things to do in new cities is check out the local aquarium. The aquarium in New Orleans was definitely one of their favorites.

In October 2017, a Long Island activity was checked off the bucket list: a trip to the wineries. In a bus full of their friends and the Berger clan, they travelled to a few of the local wineries and enjoyed a day of tastings.

The summer of 2018 was a long one. Kasey had left North Shore Animal League for another animal hospital as she continued to figure out her career. Meanwhile, Roger was sent to Virginia for work. The weeks were long until he could return home each weekend. Luckily, they had planned a trip to a bed and breakfast in the Poconos for their anniversary that year, a romantic getaway in between the time apart. They explored a new part of the Poconos and went to a Wolf Preserve, making some new favorite Poconos memories.

Roger was finally done travelling for work in the fall of 2018. Kasey continued applying for jobs. Her search would come to an end in October 2018, when she finally landed a job at New York Institute of Technology.

November of 2018 was a month of weddings. Kasey's closest friend from her days at North Shore Animal League got married and she got to be a Bridesmaid.

They also got to see Kasey's Best Cousin, the Matron of Honor, get married. That was an exciting evening full of fun and merriment for all. Kasey stood by Melissa's side as a Bridesmaid, and she can't wait for Melissa to stand by her side soon for her big day.

The Summer of 2019 was one of the most memorable. It was the summer of the New Paltz gang. There was a trip to New Paltz, Shelter Island, and they all went on a cruise together.

Shelter Island is another special place for Kasey and Roger, since that is where Kasey's grandparents lived. Though they are no longer with us, they really opened their doors to Kasey and Roger and their friends. Anyone that they invited into their home they treated like family. They were more than just Kasey's grandparents, they became Roger's grandparents, too.

Kasey and Roger also travelled to Anna Maria Island that summer. It was their first "tropical" vacation just the two of them. A few days of beaches, aquariums, mini golf, shopping, exploring, and relaxing. They definitely want to return some day.

The cruise: a whirlwind week-long getaway. Travelling by boat to the Bahamas while enjoying nautical activities in the sun with their friends. What more could they ask for?

2019 ended on a sad note with the passing of Kasey's grandfather. But they felt he sent a blessing from above because in January of 2020, Kasey and Roger moved into their first apartment together. Another milestone in their relationship had begun. In February of 2020, they celebrated 10 years together with another trip to the Poconos.

Obviously, 2020 came with new and scary hardships to navigate. But they still made the most of it, visiting Lake Sacandaga and getting some much needed fresh air with some friends.

They spent as much time outdoors as they could to try to gain some sense of normalcy through the confusion of 2020.

For their eleven year anniversary, they discovered another region of the Hudson Valley that they loved: Saugerties and Woodstock. They stayed at a cozy boho-styled cabin they found on Airbnb and enjoyed a weekend of exploration.

The pandemic had them feeling antsy, so shortly after coming home, they had another trip planned and explored Salem, Massachusetts together.

As 2021 warmed up, they spent quality time with their families. 2020-2021 taught them the value of those they held close.

The summer of 2021 was wedding season for some of Roger's cousins. They travelled with the Borger family to Montauk in June and had a blast.

A hilarious 4th of July: they spent the day with Kasey's brother at Claudio's in Greenport. While there, they stole Claudio's hats from rich people who didn't want them. Later, Roger and Christian helped the owners move an umbrella, and they all had free shots with them after!

Sadly, Kasey's grandmother passed about a month later. Though they were in mourning, they were happy to spend a few days with the Bevan-Corona clan. They made some great final memories in the Shelter Island house.

After the funeral, Kasey and Roger had to travel up to Vermont for another of Roger's cousins' weddings. That week in August was filled with both sides of their family, and lots of bonding.

In September, they visited Maine for the first time. They walked around Portland, went to the L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport, and saw so many beautiful sights.

They crushed another Halloween with their imitation of The Griffins from Family Guy.

In November, they brought their baby home. Benimaru "Bennie" Borger became the most spoiled kitten there ever was. He was at home immediately and took over their lives.

They spent their first Christmas together as a little family, bringing Bennie over to the Borger house and then to the Corona house.

For Kasey's birthday, they returned to the Saugerties-Woodstock area and stayed in another cozy Airbnb run by the same couple that hosted them the previous year. Unfortunately, after two years of dodging it, they both caught COVID and spent most of this trip in that cozy cabin. They made the most of their trip and hunkered down with cupcakes and pizza.

They visited Kasey's Welitos in Florida for some much-needed warmth. On that trip, Roger became dubbed "The Keeper" by Welita. They spent quality time together doing puzzles, cooking, and enjoying the sights nearby Welita and Welito's home.

Bennie grew up quickly! He had Kasey and Roger wrapped around his paw. Any time they try to leave the apartment, Bennie must have some outside time before they go.

At the end of July, Roger was a Groomsman for his college roommate, Will (who is now one of Roger's Groomsman!). It was the first of the New Paltz gang's weddings. Shortly after, the Maid of Honor, Emily, would be engaged to Groomsman Greg! Little did Kasey know, Roger was also scheming to propose.

The YES day! On a trip with the New Paltz gang in the Berkshires, Roger finally asked Kasey to marry him after almost 13 years together.
