Jon and Kasey’s love story began long before they realized it. Growing up just a few streets away from each other, they both attended Saint Phillip’s grade school. Their paths crossed often in the hallways and during recess. Many of their experiences from that time period are separate yet shared. They both can look back on that time period fondly even though their memories were made separately. Jon remembers Kasey as being “really good at all sports” and Kasey remembers Jon as being “the tall kid with swishy hair who stood at the foul line and banked them in.”

From there, they both went to Bishop Canevin High School where they had some classes together and many mutual friends. They attended the same sporting events, parties and hangouts but remained nothing more than acquaintances. That being said, it wasn’t until the end of Jon’s senior year and Kasey’s junior year that they became extremely close friends. When the school year ended, the two spent almost every day together exploring Pittsburgh and enjoying each others’ company. Summer 2017 brought with it a whole new perspective era of their relationship. Their friendship blossomed effortlessly into something more and the two decided to dive head first into dating.

Although Jon was leaving for IUP, the two had zero doubts that they would make it work. Jon came home to Pittsburgh every other weekend, and on the weekends that Jon remained in Indiana Kasey made the trip up to visit him . This system worked perfectly until Kasey joined him at IUP the following year. College brought with it even more memories. From packing up dorm rooms and struggling through classes/clinical rotations, to spring break trips in Florida and late night Taco Bell, they endured all of the highs and lows together. Going through the college years together helped them to build upon the strong foundation that they started with. The memories made (with some of their best friends!) are something that they will cherish forever.

Throughout that time period, Kasey and Jon also discovered their mutual love for traveling. The two have gotten to explore 5+ countries and 20+ states together and are looking forward to seeing many more. Their love for seeing new places together has been a pillar of their relationship since the very beginning!

After college, Jon and Kasey both perused their passions and began working full time. Jon as a cyber security engineer and Kasey as a postpartum nurse. This allowed them to buy their first home and come together in a way that pushed their relationship to grow more than ever before. Not long after moving in together, Jon popped the question on a weekend trip to Nemacolin. The two have been enjoying their engagement and can’t wait for a lifetime of adventure and happiness together. They are looking forward to celebrating their big day with all of you and can’t wait to make so many more fun memories!
