Kasey and Andrew met at St. John's College in Annapolis where they were both studying. They had multiple classes together and became fast friends between Monday night drinks at Galway and After Seminar Gatherings on Thursday. Kasey and Andrew bonded over their love of great books, music, and jokes. In March of 2022, during Kasey's second semester, and Andrew's final semester, their friendship started to bud into a romance. Both growing up Catholic, Kasey and Andrew decided to attend Ash Wednesday Mass together. They look back on this as the beginning of them being more than friends. Just a few short weeks later, on St. Patrick's Day, they made things official. Their first date was at a Sierra Ferrall concert in DC, the first of many concerts they would attend together. Almost two years later, Andrew knew Kasey was the one and started planning his very romantic proposal. Ash Wednesday happened to fall on Valentine's Day in 2024, and in honor of their first hang out, Andrew knew this was the perfect day to propose. He made 21 paper roses out of the pages of the books they had read together while at St. John's, and arranged them with rose petals and candles to create the perfect proposal setting. Friends of the couple, Joe Brown and Amy Janett kindly lent their deck for this very special moment. When Andrew got down on one knee, Kasey could not stop crying happy tears. She felt like the most special girl in the world. Then, they shared a wonderful meal with Joe and Amy and popped champagne before attending Ash Wednesday Mass, just like they had when they were first developing feelings for each other, but this time as Fiancés!
