Our Wedding

Anthony (23) and Kasey (20) were just young kids with big dreams of becoming police officers. Both turned down other departments and said yes at the same time to join the 65th Session at Zone 5 Law Enforcement Academy. Anthony, who was hired by East Greenbush Police, and Kasey, who was hired by Saratoga County Sheriffs Office, were in totally different places in life but ended up meeting in this place you would least expect to meet your future spouse. Anthony remembers the first time he ever noticed Kasey, he was running behind her and was staring at her, so he stepped on her shoes. Kasey turned around and threatened to punch him if he did it again. They had the same shoes. 

Where We Met

Anthony decided one night to ask Kasey out to dinner and invited her to Applebees. Kasey, who had just finished eating dinner, decided to take the leap and go out to eat. The date went so well, Anthony invited Kasey out to eat again the next day at Juniors and go to a fire at his friend Jake’s house. The third day in a row, Kasey invited Anthony to go on a pumpkin/Halloween tour with friends. It was love from there!

Our First Date

After only a few months of being together, Anthony and Kasey decided to take the next step and move in together. They were both at a place in their lives where they needed to find a new place to live and  thought nothing would be better then to do it together! They found a lovely little house right in the heart of E Greenbush and lived there for 5 years before buying their first (owned) home together!

With Anthony working overtime and midnights, Kasey decided she wanted a dog to keep her company. Anthony thought he was pulling a fast one in saying “only if our landlord says it’s okay” thinking he would say no. Thanks to Bob, Browning joined the family in 2019.

June 11, 2021 The young Gullo family now became a family of 3 (plus one with 4 paws). Sofia was a blessing in disguise. She became the light of her parents’ world... The best thing they never knew they needed. Something that no one would have ever predicted would have happened to Mr. Anthony Gullo (and a baby girl at that) became the best thing to have ever happened to him. Anthony and Kasey love nothing more then their darling daughter, Sofia JoAnn- named after the angel watching her from above, Anthony’s Aunt JoAnn Gullo.

The Birth of our Daughter

After Kasey was gone for a long, treacherous 7 months at the NYS Trooper academy and Anthony was left to raise Sofia, something changed. Anthony realized what family was all about and that this was something he never wanted to lose. He made the decision it was time to ask Kasey to marry him. The world doesn’t always go as planned, and the rain this summer changed a lot of his plans. But it finally happened on a dark summer night in Lake George. While at the fire house convention, Anthony gathered their closest friends to take a group photo in front of the lake. There, he got down on one knee and asked Kasey to be his forever.

Samantha and the Bride became friends through the Groom- Samantha is Anthony's cousin. She is also dating one of Anthony's best friends, Jake. Samantha and Kasey immediately hit it off back in 2018 and have become inseparable ever since. From gym dates, Starbucks runs, eating out, or just hanging out at each other's houses you know it is always going to be a great time. They all have the same group of friends and now will also be family! Samantha is a very important person in Kasey and Anthony's lives and they couldn't be more honored to have her as the Maid of Honor.

Megan and the Bride have been best friends since first grade! They met on the bus because they lived down the road from each other and were in the same class. Ever since, they have always been by each others' side. They made it through grade school, college, and now adulthood together. Megan is more like a sister than anything and has always been apart of the Straus household as such. Kasey has Megan to thank for starting her relationship with Anthony. On September 15, 2018 Kasey's best (four legged) friend, Daisy, had to be put down. Megan decided to invite Kasey to a Brantley Gilbert/Kid Rock concert at SPAC to cheer her up and there she ran into Anthony where they swapped numbers and social media. Kasey and Anthony never stopped talking to each other since!

Rachel met the Bride through the boys. Tate and Anthony were friends since grade school and introduced Kasey and Rachel. Through having mutual friend groups, Rachel and Kasey spent a lot of time together at different events such as going to Loon Lake, Installation, camping trips, and even the every day gym date. Kasey most recently spent a trip in FL with Rachel and friends for her bachelorette party. She then joined Rachel by her side for her wedding in Jamaica!

Kally is "Number 2" out of the Straus Girls. She is the closest in age to the Bride and has always given her a run for her money. Kally and Kasey have had a lot of differences growing up but as they've become older their relationship has become closer. Kasey could not think of going through this day without her sister by her side.

Shea is Straus Girl Number 3 and has the closest relationship with the Bride out of all of the sisters. Kasey used to always play pretend "mommy and baby" with Shea when she was little. Now they are both playing real mommy and are the two Straus girls with babies. Even though Shea lives farther away now, Kasey and Shea still have a super close bond.

Jade is the 4th and youngest Straus girl. Growing up, she was always bossed around by the Bride but, unlike the other girls, she usually listened. Jade and Kasey have the type of relationship that no matter what we are doing together, we can find a way to make it fun. Between hiking trips with dad, comedy shows, or road trips it is always a good time.

Sofia is the daughter of the Bride and Groom. She is the most bubbliest, boldest, smartest, and sweetest little girl you could ever meet. She is the light of her parent's lives.

Santino and Lorenzo are the nephews of the Bride and Groom. Their parents are Shea Straus and Kasey Brown. They are Sofia's best friends. The Bride and Groom could not think of two more handsome young men to bear the rings.

Anthony met Jimmy in middle school. They have been long time best friends and now are co-workers as well. They’ve worked together at EGPD, Troy PD, and also the tree business. If they are not working or cutting down trees, you can find them rolling on the jiu jitsu mat or smoking cigars just hanging out. Jimmy is always the person Anthony goes to when he needs help or advice. Jimmy’s Fiancé, Adrianna, is also a close friend of Kasey’s and the couples are usually found spending time together.

James Hallenbeck

Jake and Anthony are childhood best friends. Even through being told they couldn’t hangout together as teenagers, their friendship stood strong. They’ve been in a friend group with Mason, Tate, and Nick for many years. Jake is the life of the party and always willing to go on adventures. Whether it’s planned vacations or last minute escapades, Jake is usually there with Anthony. Jake’s girlfriend, Samantha, is Anthony’s cousin and Kasey’s Maid of Honor. Jake is one of Sofia’s favorite people and has become family. 

Jake Hallenbeck

Anthony and Nick have been best friends since they were kids. They grew up together joining the firehouse as explorers and eventually becoming police officers together in EGPD. They have been close friends in a group with Jake, Tate, and Mason. Anthony and Nick have spent a lot of time together camping in the summer or hunting in the fall. They are even both girl dads to the most beautiful little babies. 

Nicholas Liuzzi

Anthony and Ryan have known each other most of their life and their families have been close friends. They’ve been together in the EG Firehouse, been police officers together, and are usually found pulling each other out of sticky situations (aka pulling Anthony’s truck out of the mud). 

Ryan Condo

Anthony and Mason have been friends since 9th Grade. They met through Jake Hallenbeck, causing trouble along the way. They have been in a friend group with Jake, Nick and Tate and have been friends ever since. Mason is always willing to help Anthony whether it’s dragging a deer or moving into a house. He’s been involved with Anthony’s daughter since she was born and treats her like the princess she is. You can usually find them in the woods hunting deer or drinking beer by a fire.

Mason Goss

Anthony met Tate after high school, through Jake. They quickly became a tight knit group of friends with Mason and Nick. Tate has been a reliable, close friend of Anthony’s, always willing to lend out a helping hand. He treats his daughter, Sofia, like his own family and is one of her favorite people. Anthony was most recently a groomsman in Tate’s Wedding, with his wife Rachel who is one of the bridesmaids. They are always found together on outings most specially, Loon Lake in the summertime.

Tate Tibbitts

Anthony met Dean through Jimmy a few years ago. They are both police officers at Troy PD and have bonded through jiu jitsu. They’ve spend their time together shooting guns, drinking by a fire, or smoking cigars. 

Dean Manhunik

Adrianna “Annie” became friends with the bride through their (soon to be) husbands! Jimmy Hallenbeck, the best man, is Anthony’s best friend and Annie’s soon to be husband. Kasey and Annie can be found going on walks together, random splurge day events, or hanging out on double dates. Even though they’ve only known each other a few years, Annie is always there when Kasey needs a friend or a shoulder to lean on.

This is one of the closest hotels to the venue. It is approximately a 15-20 minute ride from the venue. We have used this hotel personally for the Firehouse Installations Banquets and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay the night. We have not blocked out any rooms as most of our guests are local, so if you need a room we do recommend to book in advance.
