After years of unfortunate jokes, and a whole lot of love, we have arrived at a pivotal moment of our lives, getting married. Three years ago, we never could have imagined we would be standing where we are today, but feel so lucky to have one another and are excited to take this next leap in our life together.
Some may say it was meant to be, finding one another. Finding our lives in parallel situations, we went to online dating and stumbled upon a person who wasn't looking for anything serious, just someone to talk to and potentially be a friend in a rough patch.
On our first date, Zach got away with calling me a puddle pirate, and somehow Zach didn't run away when I broke out the ukulele from the backseat of my car and began to play. Thinking back to it now, those were signs that something deeper was meant to happen.
Making it this far is a testament to how much we have both grown as individuals, as well as as a couple together. We have learned about how to get through almost anything with a good bad joke, some good snacks, commitment, trust, and love for one another.
(jury's still out on who will convert who to the other one's hockey team...that's an argument we will never move past)
