Daniel and Kassidy met in 2018 while Dan was visiting his family in Minnesota over summer break during college. They matched on a dating app and were surprised to discover that they were right down the road from each other. Even their younger siblings went to school together. After Daniel went back down to Texas to finish his last semester of school, Kass and Dan continued to get to know each other, and they made things official that October. The pair continued to date long distance, even after Daniel was hired by Oracle in Austin, Texas upon his graduation. They moved in together in the summer of 2020, and got engaged in June of 2024.
