Like many couples, Kassie and Dan met on an online dating app. They connected quickly on many values and life goals they shared. After a week or two of getting to know each other via messages, and a few phone and video calls, they had their first date at the Quad Cities Botanical Center on the evening of November 18, 2021. The gardens were just starting their 'Winter Nights, Winter Lights' holiday season display with thousands of lights on all of their trees and plants. Kassie and Dan shared endless stories, opinions, laughs, a cup of orange spice tea, and for a perfect ending to the night - their first kiss!

Although they had discussed getting married and planned a few details about what they'd want their special day to be like, Kassie had no idea that Dan had been planning an official proposal! On April Fool's Day, 2023, they went to dinner with their families at one of their favorite restaurants, Tangled Wood, in Bettendorf, IA. Kassie didn't suspect anything out of the ordinary when Dan went to the restroom to wash his hands before dinner.

Dan walked back to the table in a court jester hat, completely catching Kassie off guard. He then said, I'd be a fool if I didn't make this official, as he dropped on one knee and took of his hat, then added, ...but I'm no fool, so will you marry me?

Needless to say, Kassie was speechless, couldn't even finish her dinner, and didn't sleep for the next 4 nights. And here we are! We can't wait to celebrate with all of our amazing friends and family and hope to be able to share our special day with you all.
