Our Wedding

Alex and Kat met online when he opened a conversation by asking about her travels.&nbsp; Kat remembers getting his message while sitting on the couch at Janette’s house, who after seeing his profile told Kat that he looked like a keeper. They made plans to meet up in Phoenixville after Kat lured him out with the promise of a tale about sailboats. They had their first date at Stable 12 Brewing on a sweltering hot July day in 2019. They enjoyed great beer and even better (if somewhat nervous) conversation.&nbsp; Kat had been craving the Brisket Mac &amp; Cheese Grilled Cheese from Great American Pub down the street and invited him to join her afterwards for some food.&nbsp; Alex agreed to come along (even though doing so delayed his drive down to his sailboat for the weekend), and Kat got to impress him by knowing what a Theremin was.

As the months went on, they continued to have many adventures together, and in March of 2020 Alex asked Kat and her cat Sasha to come stay with him for the “two weeks” he was going to work from home during COVID.&nbsp;When those two weeks were up, they both decided that they liked the new living situation and they’ve been living together ever since. Over the next year and a half they survived COVID quarantine together, selling both of their houses as well as buying and moving into their forever home together. They took many sailing trips together over the summers, where Kat got to work on her sea legs. After the vaccine was available, they were able to travel further together and took their first trip to Sedona/Grand Canyon and to Palm Springs.

On October 21, 2021 after a walk around the lake at Kat’s family’s cabin in the Poconos, Alex proposed on the dock.&nbsp;He managed to surprise her by having the ring in his pocket without a box, so when she looked him over before leaving the house, she didn’t think he could have a ring hidden.&nbsp; Alex and Kat are so excited that they will be getting married on the two year anniversary of their engagement, and they are looking forward to celebrating with family and friends!

Kat and Mel went to middle school together, but became closer friends in high school.  After Mel moved to Wisconsin, distance has not kept their friendship down.  Mel came to visit Kat when she was living in France, and Kat is always down for some Wisconsin cheese curds!  Photos is from Emily's basement

Cara and Kat met in middle school, and while a precise moment is hard to pin down, they spent the most time together in band.  Their friend group got closer throughout high school, and the photo above is from their Junior Prom (2005).

Nick and Alex met in an orientation on our first days at RPI and have been friends ever since.  We've skied together (including a trip to Switzerland), hiked and camped, and even jumped out of a plane together to celebrate surviving our Sophomore year.

Janette and Kat also went to middle school together.  Throughout middle and high school, they got to know each other better through band and swim team.  They bond (and commiserate) over their love of Philly sports.

Eric and Alex worked together at PJM for nearly a decade, and also lived together for a stint.  Eric was a great help figuring out the early days of our careers, how to navigate 'corporate culture', struggle through masters degrees while working full time.

Emily and Kat first met in 4th grade, when they were flute "rivals".  The rivalry continued through middle/high school, but slowly they ended up in the same friend group and the enmity disappeared.

Our Ceremony and Reception will take place at the historic Glasbern Inn in Fogelsville, PA. The Glasbern is conveniently located just off the northeast extension (I476), west of Allentown, PA, approximately an hour north of Philadelphia &amp; and the Philadelphia airport. A limited number of rooms are available onsite Saturday night. As such, we have booked a room block at the Homewood Suites, and plan to arrange shuttle transportation from there.

Unfortunately there is very limited space available on site at the venue. As such, we have a room block at the Homewood Suites, a short 10 minute drive from the Glasbern inn. The 'Website' button below will let you book under our room block. Note that it will try to book you for Friday and Saturday nights; there is a ribbon across the top to adjust your dates as required.

MissionThe American Helicopter Museum &amp; Education Center’s mission is to&nbsp;preserve&nbsp;rotary-wing aviation history,&nbsp;educate&nbsp;society on helicopters and their missions &amp;&nbsp;inspire&nbsp;future generations. We will collect, preserve, research, publish and exhibit the objects, artifacts and documents relating to the origins and development of rotary-wing aircraft. We accomplish this through an active schedule of public educational programs, exhibitions, events, air shows, workshops and publications designed to teach the principles of flight, celebrate the pioneers of aviation and encourage and inspire future generations of engineers, scientists, innovators, pilots, mechanics and inventors!

Registry

We want our guests to be able to party with us responsibly! With that in mind, we have arranged for transport to and from the Homewood Suites and Glasbern. Due to the nature of the driveways/parking lots, larger buses are unable to access the venue. We have arranged for a 29 person passenger van to transport our guests. For the Wedding:This van will be making multiple trips from the hotel to the venue from 3:30pm-5:00pm. Keep in mind only 29 people can be transported at a time, so if possible we would appreciate if some guests opt to take an earlier trip.
