In November 2021, Katarina took a Thanksgiving trip to Alaska that would change her life forever. She was visiting her sister, Toula, and brother-in-law, Devin, who were hosting the holiday at their home.

Toward the end of the evening, a new face walked in—Logan. Curious, Katarina texted Toula: "Who’s the guy who just showed up?" Toula replied, "Idk lol, a firefighter I think."

The rest of her trip, Katarina couldn’t get Logan out of her mind. Little did she know, back at work, Devin was teasing Logan: "My sister-in-law thinks you’re cute." A few days later, Logan slid into Katarina’s Instagram DMs with, "You’ll have to let me know next time you’re in Alaska." And just like that, their story began.

Over the next few months, they got to know each other from afar. In April 2022, Katarina booked a trip back to Alaska to “see about a thing.” That’s when Logan officially asked her to be his girlfriend.

They spent the next year in a long-distance relationship, meeting in new cities and creating unforgettable memories. Then, in May 2023, Logan surprised Katarina in Iowa and asked her to marry him.
