We spent a LOT of time and drank a lot of Raspberry Edels here while watching the Kansas Basketball Jayhawks win the 2022 National Championship. Wash your beers down with an order of pretzel bites.

John Brown's Underground

Our favorite craft cocktail bar in Lawrence! Their rotating menu keeps us coming back and discovering new favorites.

Merchants Pub & Plate

746 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS 66044, USA

Best. Brussel's Sprouts. EVER. Set in an old bank, Merchants is the perfect spot for a nice dinner or a delicious weekend brunch.

(785) 764-6612

A great place to grab a cup of coffee and scratch-made pastry! Katarina & Brandon spent many Saturday mornings wedding planning here.

Explore Lawrence & Beyond

Allen Fieldhouse

1651 Naismith Dr, Lawrence, KS 66044, USA
(785) 864-8200

Pay Heed, All Who Enter: One of the most historic and celebrated basketball arenas in college sports, historic Allen Fieldhouse is home to the men's and women's basketball teams and has the greatest home-court advantage in the country. Check out the Booth Family Hall of Athletics for the trophies, and the DeBruce Center to see James Naismith's original rules of basketball.

Shopping on Massachusetts Street

Mass Street, as it is also known, is the main road through downtown Lawrence. Bring a reusable bag (Lawrence is plastic-free) and do some shopping and eating at local stores you won't find anywhere else. A few of our favorites are The Striped Cow, Wonderfair, Weavers, Game Nut, Waxman's Candles, and The Raven.

Lawrence Farmers' Market

SATURDAY: 824, New Hampshire St, Lawrence, KS 66044, USA
(785) 505-0117

You can find us here most Saturday mornings when the market is in season! Some of our favorite vendors are the Flory's for sausage biscuit sandwiches, Slow Rise Donuts for sourdough donuts, and Torched Goodness for made-to-order Creme Brulee.

Boulevard Brewing Company

2501 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108, USA
(816) 474-7095

A Kansas City institution since 1989. Tours can be arranged ahead of time, and the beer hall and rec deck are fun places to hang out, play games, and take in the skyline of Kansas City.

J. Rieger & Co.

2700 Guinotte Ave, Kansas City, MO 64120, USA
(816) 702-7800

Kansas City's original distillery! Check out the outdoor Electric Park Garden and the Monogram Lounge for delicious cocktails and food, or take a tour of their facility.

Country Club Plaza

4706 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64112, USA
(816) 753-0100

Head over to the "The Plaza" for a fun afternoon of shopping, some of KC's famous fountains, and make sure to check out the Made in KC store for plenty of local goods.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

4525 Oak St, Kansas City, MO 64111, USA
(816) 751-1278

Home to a wide variety of art collections and exhibitions, admission to the museum is free. Katarina enjoys the Monets, and Brandon likes the Japanese woodblock pieces.
