Things to see and do in Gdansk

Three contiguous coastal cities on the coastline of the Baltic Sea, Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot form the Polish Tri-Cities.


Around Gdansk:

- a walk down Długi Targ is a must, this is the main street of old town Gdansk

- visit the Solidarity movement museum, Polands break from communism. Katherines grandfather even played a role in the movement which is what earned him the opportunity to move to the US!

- St. Mary’s Church dominates the old town of Gdansk. It is one of the largest brick churches in the world. You're also able to climb the stairs up to the top tower for a view of the city from up high

- The main town hall (right next to Neptune fountain) Climb to the top of the tower and from here, you can look down at the entire stretch of Dlugi Targ, across the Motlawa River, and on a clear day, out to the Baltic Sea. Theres also a museum inside.

- visit an amber shop, the Baltic Sea is known for its amber!

- WW2 museum

- Do as the polish do... drink vodka! Try a vodka tasting!

- Check if there are any events at Polsat Plus Arena; the stadium was constructed for the UEFA EURO 2012, which Poland co-organized together with Ukraine


Sopot, just a quick 20-25 min train ride up the coast, is a great city to go visit the beach and walk the promenade with many restaurants and beautiful hotels.
