WE MET and became teammates on placement day ! Pictured is our team from June 2022-May 2023 !! We both liked each other from the beginning but knew that we could not date as we were on the same team (and Kate was on a dating fast as a first year missionary) so this began our year of friendship that has become the foundation of our entire relationship !

This is a silly moment because I (Kate) specifically remember it being the first time I was with Colin and not with another teammate. (The man in the back is the chaplain at University of Iowa) We were taking a boat ride on the Mississippi and for about 10 minutes we had the most choppy, awkward conversation possible. I remember thinking that there was noooo way Colin could like me after that, looks like I was wrong lol !

Christmas photos as a team - everyone is rocking the costco merch lol !! Our team grew really close and it was around this time that I (Kate) knew that I was going to have to tell Colin I liked him after my dating fast. I had never met anyone more kind and lovely to be around. We hadn't spent more than 4 hours alone together in total (after working together every single day !!) yet he was simply the person I couldn't wait to talk to everyday.

Colin asked Kate to go on a date after a dramatic series of events (if you don't know the story please ask one of us lol) Kate's dating fast was over, Colin was heading to be Team Director at Madison, WI, and we finally started dating after being close friends for a year !

Placement Day, again ! This time, on different teams !! Almost a year ago, we had first met and now we were dating and beginning to figure out long distance dating !

We went to Gatlinburg, TN with the Anderson family and it was an incredible trip filled with incredible views ! Any time spent with either one of our families has been a true treat !

We got engaged at St Luke's Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN after daily mass in front of the tabernacle !
