Our first date was at a rodeo in Paris—Texas, not France (we're not that fancy). We were both a little nervous, but the night ended with smiles and plans for a second date at 107, a restaurant in downtown Paris, TX.

After dinner, we sat on a bench outside the courthouse and had the conversation—horses, cattle, future kids, and where we wanted to put down roots. You know, just your casual second-date chat.

Back then, Jordan was living with his best friend (also named Jordan—yes, it gets confusing), and we were constantly driving back and forth to see each other. I still remember cruising down 271 with cheesy country music blasting (shoutout to Dirt on My Boots) and a big grin on my face.

At some point, we realized our dads had been friends in high school—seriously, what are the odds? We ended up reconnecting them, and now they’re back to being buddies again.

By Thanksgiving, we were meeting each other’s families and figuring out how to politely turn down second (and third) helpings. Then in January 2024, we took our first flight together—destination: Orlando! While we were gone, our couch got delivered, and my brother had to play furniture supervisor.

That same month, we moved in together, and by November 2024, we got engaged in Austin while visiting Jordan’s family for the holidays.

Now here we are—planning a wedding, building a life, and definitely still talking about how many horses we’ll need.
