Things to Do

Mammoth is truly our favorite place and there are SO many fun things to do! These will all be weather dependent of course (spring skiing anyone??). Below are some of our fave activities and places to check out:

Little Lakes and Mono Pass Trailhead (Gem Lakes)

Although it's a little detour on your way up to Mammoth (~20 minutes off the 395), this is one of our favorite hikes. It's a flat trail that follows a stream and passes several beautiful lakes.

There are SO many good hikes in and around Mammoth, it's just too hard to list them all. The Crystal Lake trail is the most popular one, and worth checking out if you've never done it before. You get stunning views of Lake Mary and George on your way up and there is a great jumping rock on the east side of the lake! Text Kate (or Dennis) if you want other hiking recommendations.

Mountain Biking

Check out the Uptown Downtown MTB Trail or the Mammoth Bike Path if you prefer a paved trail (and it goes all the way to Lake Mary!).

There are several nearby lakes (Lake Mary, Lake George, Lake Mamie, Twin Lakes, etc.! ) that have great trails to explore. You can also rent boats, kayaks, or paddle boards and fish in these lakes.

Mammoth Brewing Company

Post-activities, we love coming to Mammoth Brew Co. for great food (french fries, always) and cold beer.

Stellar Brew & Natural Cafe

Our favorite little coffee shop, great for grab and go burritos and snacks too!

Mammoth Town Loop

The full town loop is about 7 miles; the map can be accessed here. The path is entirely paved and mostly flat. You'll have views of the valley floor and the Sierra's on the south side, and pass through the center of town on the north.
