Lough Hyne , a salt water lake connected to the ocean which is a unique habitat of marine plants and animals. It is my (Kate) favourite place and definitely worth a visit for a walk or even a dip to brush off the cob webs!
A seafront front village approximately 15 minutes from Skibbereen town. A cute little village to take in the views with a pint or a coffee and walk to the Beacon which gives you an amazing view of the coastal landscape.
Want to stand on Ireland’s most southerly point? Mizen Head is a sparsely populated peninsula that looks out over the Atlantic, with the Mizen Head Signal Station and Visitor Centre at its head. It is a scenic drive to get to Mizen head and you pass through idyllic fishing villages on route. It is about a 55 minute drive from Skibbereen.
