If you're planning on arriving early or extending your stay beyond the weekend, we highly recommend visiting charming St. Augustine. Known as the "Nation's Oldest City", the historic downtown is 40-45 minutes away from our recommended Jacksonville hotels.
Riverside Avondale Neighborhood
Historic district with some of our favorite spots for walks, beautiful parks, great restaurants, and fun shops. We had our first date together here: a stroll through the streets followed by quesadillas at Nacho Taco.

Dreamette: Our preferred spot for ice cream and milkshakes is the Murray Hill location, a cash-only stand that has been beloved by Corrigans for generations.
Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens: A favorite for both the art exhibits and the peaceful gardens along the river.
Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve: A great place to see wildlife and enjoy the nature trails, forest, and marshes. The Theodore Roosevelt Area is a particular favorite!
Community Loaves: This bakery and cafe in the Murray Hill neighborhood has some of the best breads and sweets, prioritizing local ingredients.
Primi Piatti: A little piece of Italy, right on Park Street! A go-to spot for savoring a delicious meal, we highly recommend calling for a reservation.
