Many moons ago, Kate messaged John on Hinge. To John’s delight, not only was Kate his first match, but she also knew about his favorite video game- Super Smash Brothers. They had to delay their first meeting because Kate claimed she had to distribute 4,000 lbs of turkey at the local Thanksgiving drive. Kate figured that if John believed that and was okay with it he might be a match. 

On November 25, 2019, John and Kate met at Elmhurst Pub in Providence. John was thoughtful enough not to assume that Kate had a car, and decided to pick a place that would be walkable from PC’s campus. John ordered a Guinness and Kate order an Angry Orchard Cider, and the rest is history…

Together they’ve survived a pandemic, moving from and back to Rhode Island, career changes, two broken feet, and most recently the Washington Bridge closure. How much more challenging could marriage really be?
