Kate buzzed into Brandon's life at Kaiser Tiger in Chicago. They shared a plate of bacon and cocktails which was the perfect first date for both of them. Easy conversation and a mutual hatred for the Chicago Cubs set up a great future for the pair. Brandon gave Kate a printed out flowchart of his hangover cure, and she was eager to test it out the next day. His Excel skills warmed the accountant's heart.

How We Met

Brandon and Kate have had a lot of fun and memories in their two years together. Brandon survived&nbsp;their first trip together to Palm Springs with her family, where he adapted quite well to the retirement lifestyle. Kate surprised Brandon and dressed up as Captain Phasma to attend the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere together. Many baseball and hockey games, Nathaniel Rateliff concerts, and museum explorations highlight their relationship. They've traveled to New Orleans, Punta Cana, and C2E2. They've enjoyed almost every steakhouse Chicago has to offer - Maple & Ash is the favorite. After moving in together in January 2018, they've shared chores and responsibilities; much to Kate's enjoyment, Brandon does the dishes! Summer 2018 also brought a new activity - the pair joined a bocce ball league with the very fitting team name Chewbocce.

Our Relationship

Brandon popped the question on the beautiful Chicago lakefront with the John Hancock and full skyline in the background, and Lake Michigan waving in approval.&nbsp; After a bocce ball victory (it was a forfeit, but we're counting it), Kate suggested they walk for a bit on the lake path.&nbsp; After a few yards, Brandon couldn't wait anymore and got down on one knee.&nbsp; He still teases Kate about how she didn't see the ring box in his pocket or notice how nervous he was.&nbsp; In typical Kate fashion, she had no idea that it was happening that night and was so excited to share the news.

Heather and Kate have been best friends since they could swing a bat.&nbsp; Growing up together and surviving high school formed the foundation of their friendship, but it was the days spent living just blocks away in Lakeview&nbsp;that solidified their bond.&nbsp; From trips to Vegas, Toronto, Boston, and Vegas again, they've spent some of the best times of their lives together.&nbsp; Kate is honored to have Heather as her matron of honor.

Brandon and Jim have been best friends&nbsp;for over 25 years. Brandon and Jim have been through a lot together and have always come out on top.&nbsp;Brandon&nbsp;could not think of anyone else to be his&nbsp;best man besides this guy.

Katie and Kate met right when they both had moved to the city.&nbsp; Their mutual sarcasm and love for people-watching quickly developed into a friendship that has stood the test of time.&nbsp;&nbsp;Apple-picking has become a tradition each year for the pair, and they always find ways to sneak a laugh into their busy lives.&nbsp; Kate couldn't be more excited to have&nbsp;Katie as a part of her wedding party.&nbsp;

Samuel is by far Brandon's favorite brother. Being able to watch Sam grow up and become the man he is, Brandon is&nbsp;honored to have him be a part of the process.

The first time Brandon&nbsp;met Miguel, he&nbsp;was interviewing with him for a job. Miguel&nbsp;was a little distracted due to the fact Brandon&nbsp;was cutting in on his tailgating time for the 2010 White Sox Home Opener. After Brandon&nbsp;was hired, they&nbsp;got to know each other&nbsp;and he has been a great friend ever since. Thank you for being a part of the&nbsp;special day.

Kate and Kate (noticing a pattern here?) met working together at Shepard Schwartz &&nbsp;Harris.&nbsp; While they never worked on the same jobs, the laughs from the shared cubicle quad carried all over the office.&nbsp; Having a mutual love for fine dining and dive bars, these two quickly developed a close friendship.&nbsp; Kate is thrilled to have "Ditty" stand with her.

Registry

Room block is available from November 8, 2019 through November 10, 2019. Rooms must be booked by October 18, 2019. Room rates are set for $169 per night with suite options available. Please note that the hotel is located across the street from the venue. No separate transportation will be necessary.

JW Marriott

We will only be providing the room blocks for the JW Marriott; however if you are interested in exploring other options, this could be a good fit too. Note that the venue is in the Loop area of Chicago. Popular neighborhoods would include West Loop, River North, and Gold Coast. If you’re adventurous, Logan Square, Lincoln Park, and Wicker Park provide a different experience in the city.
