Kate and Ian first met as children. Ian had asked her to play a video game with her but she was shy and refused. The next time they would see one another he gave her a purple shell (she still has the shell to this day). Their paths wouldn't cross for many years. In 2018 they remet as adults at a Rocky Horror Picture Show that neither of them had planned on going to. Kate and her Maid of Honor Dana decided why not go to a show they had nothing better going on that night, and Ian not normally traveling all the way to East Greenwich from Putnam CT was headed to that show as well.As Kate and Dana watched Ian MC they giggled to one another that he was goofy and cute, he looked like one of Dana's friends from Germany, so after the show Kate went up to Ian and asked for a photo. This became their first photo together. The three of them chatted for a long time and they ended up joining the cast thanks to Ian. Time past and Ian and Kate's friendship grew but both of them had partners and the timing never worked out for them until 2022. In 2022 Kate was dating someone but the relationship was not great, Ian was developing feelings for her as well. The two of them did a preshow that spurred some chat amongst the cast, they performed Baby its Cold Outside but with the roles reversed the connection between them was palpable.Kate broke up with her boyfriend (3rd breakup was the charm) and finally admitted her feelings for Ian and they began dating on December 18th! On December 24th Kate attempted to go out to Martha's Vineyard to spend Christmas with Ian and his family but the snow and wind canceled the boats. Determined she was she made it out there on Christmas Morning and spent Christmas with her new boyfriend and his family. In April Ian got sick of the hour-plus commute between the two of them and made the move to RI! he moved in with Kate and the two began building a home together in Kate's childhood home with her two cats.Odin quickly took to Ian as his new father and became attached instantly. October of 2024 Ian would propose to Kate! Originally planning to propose where they had remet as adults, he had to pivot when there was no show at that theater. He chooses to propose at King Richard's Faire inside a fairy circle. The moment was truly magical as they were inside making wishes and typing strings together in memory of Kate's parents string how they could have been here to meet Ian and see how happy they were together Ian stepped back saying "I wish they could have seen this" got down on his knee (tripping over a rock, but recovering beautifully) and proposed with a Bruce shark ring the most perfect ring ever! Turns out he had had the ring since August just waiting for the perfect moment. They begin nerds haven't had a fight or anything, planning this wedding has been the easiest thing ever with the hardest being that the date just not lining up with what they wanted. Everything they like they agree on. These two nerds are truly a match, a perfect pair, they are what is meant by true love and partners.
