International Travellers!

Advice from a seasoned traveller from England to Texas:

Connection Info:

- Would advise against any connections through New York. Most of them are sneaky and make you change airports. Which will be an extra cost and extra stress!

- Be aware that if you have a connection anywhere in the US, you are required to go through customs, re-check your baggage, and go through security at your connection airport. You will need to factor in your layover time accordingly. Generally there is a process for connecting passengers where you don't ever exit the airport, but please research!

Flight Advise:

- As the only direct flights from the UK to Dallas are out of Heathrow, it may be easier (for all my Northerners) to either:

1. Get a connection through Dublin. If you search Manchester to Dublin on Aer Lingus, it'll say nothing is available. But if you buy separate tickets for MAN to DUB and then DUB to DFW, you will see the first flight out of MAN will give you plenty of time to reach your connection in Dublin. You'll be able to link your separate tickets by contacting Aer Lingus. Additional benefit, you do US customs in the Dublin airport!

2. Find a direct flight to somewhere on the East Coast of the US as your connection. It is usually cheaper than having Heathrow as your connection.

3. Find a direct flight to somewhere in the US and then get a separate Southwest Airlines flight from that Airport to DAL. You'll need to factor in that an Uber ride from DFW would cost about $100 when doing a cost compare of landing in DFW vs DAL.

4. For some reason it's loads cheaper to fly to Austin (AUS), Texas. Although it requires you to take 3 flights, MAN-LHR, LHR-AUS, AUS-DAL. We have done it, and is worth the cost savings.
