Kate and Matt were introduced in February of 2022 as part of a blind date. They met with a small group of friends at Brew Pub in downtown Billings. Matthew came from work, was dressed to impress, and a perfect gentleman. Kate was a gremlin who was late, more focused on nachos than anything else, and dressed for comfort over style. Despite it all, Matt decided it was worth a shot and asked Kate to meet again.

The beginning of the relationship was filled with fishing, hiking, running, and spending time with Kate's dog, Raleigh. After six months of being together, Matthew received a job offer in Fort Worth, Texas that was too good to pass up.

Cue the pains of long distance.

Navigating a new relationship and long distance was challenging. The routine became phone calls after concerts for Matt and basketball games for Kate. Matt would try to come back to Billings every three months, but we all know how life can get in the way. During the summers, Matthew was able to spend up to a month in Billings to experience the perfection that is a Montana summer.

After two years of long distance nonsense, Matt decided it was time to come home for good (he really just missed the dog). He proposed to Kate on a fishing trip up the Beartooth pass after a perfect summer of paddle boarding, fishing, camping, and hiking. Now, instead of wondering when the next time Matt will be in town is, the couple gets to ask when they will be able to get out of town together.
