Childcare
In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation we have chosen for our wedding celebration to be an adult-only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off. We are more than happy to try and help you find local childcare if your little one(s) is coming up to Maine as well. Please email Kate!

We're so excited to celebrate with you. September in Maine is peak tourist season, which means hotels can get pricey. We would recommend booking as soon as you're able. Below are hotel options, and there is also a thriving airbnb scene in and around Portland that may better suit your needs. If you want to ask about potential accomodations, please just give Andy or Kate a shout!
Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Waterfront
We have a wedding block at the Residence Inn, at $260 per night. Use this link to get the rate online, or call and ask for the Garrett/ Cunningham block when booking! There are limited rooms, and they must be booked prior to August 8 to take advantage of the rate.
NOTE: Please reach out to Kate if you have any difficulty securing a room in the block - we're trying to add rooms as they fill up, but the hotel will only give us so much space at once. We're happy to try on your behalf if it's sold out when you attempt to book.
The reception is about 20 minutes north of Portland in Yarmouth. There will be transportation to/from the wedding celebration from this location! Please see the Logistics section for shuttle details.
Please note this is in the Old Port area of Portland, and thus, quite close to many other area hotels - we encourage you to use our transportation regardless of where you stay! Please see the Logistics section for shuttle details.
Shuttle to the reception - meet at Residence Inn
We will provide a shuttle to all party guests from the Residence Inn, to Yarmouth. It will return to the Residence Inn at the end of the evening!
The Residence Inn is in the Old Port neighborhood of Portland, and likely walking distance from all Old Port accommodations. As such, we strongly encourage you to use the shuttle if you're staying anywhere in the area!
The shuttle will depart Portland at 4:45pm on September 9. The meeting point will the lobby of the Residence Inn.
Parking at the event
There is a parking lot at Gather itself (189 Main Street), as well as ample on-street parking out front. Across the street from Gather, there is additional parking available in the Key Bank lot, located behind the bank itself.
Old Port accommodations
If the Residence doesn't fit the bill, there are a number of other great hotels in the area from which you can still take advantage of the shuttle to and from the reception! Please note many hotels in Portland have a 2 night minimum during peak season. Here are a few ideas in the Old Port:

Portland-area accommodations
AirBNB is a great option, and you can find something that has all of the charm we love about Portland. You can check out that option HERE.
There are a number of hotels near the Portland International Jetport and Maine Mall, in South Portland. South Portland is about 25 minutes from the celebration site in Yarmouth. There will be no formalized tranportation from South Portland - however it's approximately a 10 minute cab or Uber to the Old Port area, where there will be a shuttle to Yarmouth!
Freeport area accomodations
Freeport is about a 10 minute drive from Yarmouth, where the party is being held! Freeport is known for its outlet malls and for being the home of LL Bean's flagship store. Please note there will not be transportation provided from Freeport, but Uber and Cabs are always an option!
